Is my tank drunk today?

What do you call it when you are having a day where your tanks are utterly hopeless? I have had endless games today where my Churchill VII shoots into the side of an enemy tank and fails to penetrate at all, the enemy then turns their turret and penetrates the front plate like it wasn’t even there. Today it seems a butterfly could seemingly fly into the front plate and pop right through the thing.

Nothing special here, that’s just the Churchill VII experience.

Possibly malicious codes, if you win too many matches or hadn’t died much, the game will set your shot to generate little to no spalls, and reduce your armor value so you get killed more easily /s

You’re driving a British tank so you will get murdered and fail to murder. The game is massively biased against you.

The Churchill VII has 150mm of armour, and angled Churchill should be an impenetrable fortress and yet a Tiger 1 (which can barely penetrate an un-angled Churchill) will somehow magically send a broken thermonuclear tipped round into your crew compartment no matter how much you angle. This was a while back but I’ve even had Jagdpanzer’s penetrate my Churchill VII in sim despite the fact that it only has 130mm of pen with its APHE off memory.

Meanwhile a Tiger with only around 100mm of armour can angle and bounce 17lber rounds with 190mm pen point blank with no problems at all.

Wait until you get to tanks with APDS if you aren’t there already if you want pure frustration. Observe how your rounds shatter on things they really shouldn’t whilst you’re one-click killed by the guy you just shot at.

Our rounds can fail and shatter of course but Gaijin will never implement APHE fuses failing as they should because it’d hurt gameplay… madness isn’t it?

conqueror is baller tho. Sure, bit weaker against light tanks and at close range, but at medium to long range, its a menace.

It’s a menace right until you don’t kill your victim in that first shot and have to wait a century to reload. At which point the other guy scrapes the remains of his previous gunner from his seat and one-click bs deletes you before you can reload.

The turret also has a magical gravitational pull that stops rounds that come in from such an extreme angle from bouncing off and sucks them downwards into the fighting compartment. Is the commander’s cupola still a stupid 1-hit-death weakspot as well thanks to broken APHE mechanics allowing shrapnel to fly backwards against physics to kill the crew?

Don’t forget the dreadful accuracy of the ultra long range killer that the Conqueror should be. Go into test drive and aim at the Ferdinand on the hill, observe how not only your shells shatter, but other times it completely misses (despite the same point of aim) and then even when it does penetrate it does minimal damage. The driver here absorbed that lightning fast metal death coming his way twice stopping the round before it could damage anything else in its path.

Meanwhile, an IS tank…

It hits almost the exact same spot every single shot. Yet the British sniper tank (with an unrealistically slow reload) at times completely misses the target. Britain is heavily gimped and there’s zero justification for it.

It is true that I wish it had faster reload. Currently Ive got lot of assists, and my KD would be much better if the reload wasnt half a century.

That is highly dependent on the playstyle. As I said, Conqueror is weaker at close range, namely in cities. But on open maps with long lines of sight, the reload time can be played around by simply playing hulldown and abusing terrain.

Havent really noticed that. Lot of russian 122mm tanks go for it if im playing hulldown, but they rarely pen due to angles. HEAT on the other hand goes through a lot, but it only takes out commander, which isnt that big of a deal.

That must be some old video, since in my test drive, its russians and theres T-64 on the hill.

Dont know about you, but if rank conquerors accuracy above that of some other tanks that ive played. The insane muzzle velocity (at least for its BR), tight grouping (might be due to my gunner being maxed out when it comes to targeting?), its breeze to fight at long range - as long as you dont run into Pzh2000.
