Absolutely yes. Just remember that you can lock onto air targets (like a SPAA) change to your proximity fused shells, and pop the heli’s.

I have “a few” light tanks 😉 2S38 is 1,000% worth it. The sale is coming up in about 1 month, so if you want to wait it should go on 50% sale. Especially when it is on sale, I say absolutely get it, especially if you like/are good with light tanks.
Of course do i own it. Otherwise i would not have answered. I mainly play it as a support tank and when possible very aggressive. It also performs quite well as an Anti Aircraft tank.
This ☝️ I have more air kills in my 2S38 than most of my SPPAs 😂 ESPECIALLY against Heli’s, wonderful to pop those jerks.

It is a very controversial vehicle
A lot of people (me included) think it is too powerful for it’s battle rating.
There are also those who vehemently disagree, claiming it’s balanced where it is.
So yes, it’s very good and worth your money (but wait for sales)

(I assume you already know) but I just like to repeat it, the 2S38 is a CREWLESS turret. Many of the people who have issues taking it out are aiming for turret, need to aim for front to take out all 3 crew members 😉

I still think it is “ok” where it is, and I have it AND all the BMPs/BMDs. Imo, the BMDs/BMPs were too low as compared to the 2S38’s BR. When I use the 2S38, I try and flank, shoot MBT’s in their sides. It’s really no different than when another light or MBT flanks you. People just remember that when they die to a 2S38, it’s in their sides. BECAUSE, it is not very easy (or even possible sometimes) to kill MBTs in the front with the 2S38.
Then, when I face a 2S38, if I can’t get the front, I will poke the turret then bum rush it to finish it off. I see a LOT of people not rushing ME when I’m in my 2S38. They seem too scared sometimes. If you knock out the vertical drive, or the autoloader RUSH IT.
I honestly do not feel like it is too low in BR. Especially with the autoloader and internal components added (which I think is totally fair, and working as intended, and is working fairly.)
OH for sure, I am not trying to get into a “negative” argument, but did want to give the OP more pros and cons of the 2S38 (and more suggestions on how to use it effectively/defensively) through our discussion about its BR.

Lmao, while I HAVE purchased some Ace training in the past (usually after getting the 50% price reduction) I actually played 2S38/BMD’s/BMP’s enough to get Ace on them (mostly) 😂 The talisman on the BMP-2M was a mistake LOL 😭 Meant to buy Ace training 💀

meh ig the talisman is still kinda worth it… the highest crew lvl i have is 60 in USSR and 32 in USA
