As the title says. Is it viable to grind crew xp in air realistic or is it better to be done in ground realistic?

Neither. If you want to grind Crew XP, use arcade. (not sure about sim)

Its an economic / playstyle / relative success question.

With 6k battles you are aware of that the economy in Air RB is much better than in Ground RB - that’s why tankers flood Air RB.

The problem is that just 1% of your earned RP are converted into XP for your crew. So in order to earn significant amount of XP in Air RB you should:

  1. Be aware of that the overwhelming RP (and subsequently XP) are related to survival time. The longer you stay alive the more RP & XP you gain. Therefore it is not advised to fly in high/top tier if you can’t score reliably in order to compensate for the RP/XP loss due to very short match duration.

  2. Play with the Aircraft you perform best. In an ideal scenario this aircraft is either a premium or you put a talisman on it - in order to benefit from the better RP multipliers. And you might try to play props as the match duration is quite often 25 minutes if you know what you are doing…

Air RB pilots need no line-ups and therefore they progress extremely fast to level 75 (if they know what they are doing) - and your XP can be used to increase the crew level of tanks and ships.

Btw - the felow player is technically seen correct, Air AB is producing the highest amout of XP. You find via forum search a lot of highly detailed threads about this.
