Is it too much to ask to fix US Ground top tier?

Nothing solid. I’ve seen your posts. It basically amounts to ‘something might have happened, but we don’t know what.’ At which point you can’t expect Gaijin to do anything because we have no idea how much of the weight is armour or other upgrades.

It amounts to the limits on DU hulls being removed, a new frontal armor package being made, and a billion secondary sources post-2006 that say there’s DU in the hull. It’s pretty explicit that the armor was upgraded.

You actually did say I was wrong. The M1A1 hulls are in fact different from the M1A2. End of story.

Everything else is speculation

I want hmmvw with tow and fim92 :)

I didn’t at any time expect Gaijin to change anything. What I did say was that you can’t claim the A2 and newer Abrams are the same as the A1 hull wise.

Poor secondary sources that don’t cite sources and are written by people who have nothing to do with the Abrams program? Those ones? It doesn’t matter how many sources there are if they’re all shit m8.

Cool, but HOW. It could just be a simple composite upgrade. Some Aluminum Oxide laminates perhaps? The only credible source posted doesn’t say ANYTHING about DU.

Also m113 with tow would be fun too :)
(I know Italy has it already)

That would be a really fun

The biggest problem is that those require integrated systems, meaning that there’s a separate radar complex that handles threat acquisition. I don’t know how Gaijin would include that into the game. There would be much better options as far as spaas go.

FIM 92 is already present on a few vehicles in game it wouldn’t be crazy to add it for hmmvw especially because they are IR (mostly) (I assume you’re talking about the fim because tow doesn’t require radar and is an ATGM)

You’re right, I was thinking of something else

itd be weird any otehr way

if an anti air hmmwv is added its should be the SLAMRAM.

not really, it’d be normal

“The hull and turret of the M1A1 is of advanced armour construction
similar to the Chobham armour developed in the UK and provides
protection against ATGWs and other battlefield weapons”

“Many of the tanks transferred
from the Army did not include the DU armor package, though. This posed somewhat of a
problem as tank battalions shifted tanks around to ensure non-DU tanks did not deploy
with the Marine Expeditionary Units (MEUs) or to OIF. This problem has since been
rectified, and currently, all Marine Corps M1A1 tanks have DU armor. In early 2008, the
Marine Corps began to take delivery of an additional 44 tanks from the Army, raising the
total in the Marine Corps’ inventory to 447 M1A1 Abrams MBTs.”

Additionally

“Additionally, the MlAl has thicker and much improved
armor. This improved Chobham armor uses depleted uranium.”

And

“When Kinetic Energy (KE) long-rod
penetrators were invented the old standards were not good enough, which meant heavier and denser
material - Chobham armor and depleted uranium liners within the armor plates.”

Does this mean DU is used wherever there is Chobham?

you all know @Conraire already talked about this stuff years ago on old forums right? Necrons already knows this stuff. he’s anti u.s and will repeat the same garbage over and over and over he’ll just circle jerk himself over the Swedish test trials which was already proven to him to now be U.S Army standard tanks or protected. He doesn’t care what you show him, who shows it to him. We could bring someone from general dynamics to this website, and they could tll him the abrams has a D.U Hull and he would cry scream and rage saying that guy is a lie and pull out the swedish test trials junk again and say that stuff is the true protection of all the abrams.
