Why wouldn’t it be possible, if you can connect it probably
If it can connect to your computer, yes it will work. I would recommend using the usb cable if has one. Wireless connections always add a little bit of latency. I have one of the Xbox Elite controllers and it pops up automatically when starting War Thunder.
If your controler doesn’t pop up automatically in windows you might need to install the xbox controler app (also gives you more options for the controler).
Let us know if you have issues, it should just work automatically though.
Yes it’s possible but for the most part I don’t recommend if you can use a keyboard + mouse set-up. However may come in handy for air simulator battles or very specific features like manual controlled missiles. Once connected in your control settings look up for Control Setup Wizard which you can use to quickly set-up a controller, although this might override your current settings so I’ll also recommend to manually bind the buttons, triggers and thumbsticks.
