Should I grind Britian, both air and ground? I’ve been tossing it up recently, done a little bit of reading, some say its great, others think its to much copy and paste. I’ve got usa air tier 7, and ground 5.7, and a few other tech trees (Italy and Japan) a decent way through props, italy is nearly jets. Should I grind britian, or just focus on italy and japan instead? btw im an air main, ground is just a side quest for me

For ground it’s not fun slow tanks and apds round not that good need time to learn them.
Edit:
i only played from 1.0 to 7.7 i avoided grinding top tier UK because i don’t like slow tanks! that just my personal experiences / opinion .
My personal opinion
Air:
Rank 1 - 4. Very good, solid aircraft all round. (just dont play the heavy bombers)
Rank 5 is a compressed nightmare. I’ve tried and failed to enjoy it. Canberras can be fun though
Rank 6 - 7. The aircraft themselves are fine on paper, but suffer greatly due to the environment and conditions they are forced to operate in, perticularly with the large number of ground attackers that naturally fair poorly in anything other than ASB. A few solid aircraft like the Harrier GR3, Tornado F3, etc, but mostly this bracket will be a bit of a chore. Biggest issue is that most suffer from the terrible ongoing compression and thus struggle to perform correctly as they are rarely fighting appropriate aircraft for their performance. Also a few just arent well suited for the A2A combat most common in War Thunder.
Rnak 8, pretty solid all round, some simialr issues as above, but a lot more managable. But be prepared to deal with the major short-comings of BOL’s current state
Rank 9, very solid.
I 100% recommend at least getting down to the 5.7 Spitfires, they are a lot of fun, especially the LF MkIX.
Ground… Disclaimer, I dont perticularly enjoy the lower BRs period and its not my forte
Rank 1-5 is a total chore due to the terrible balance of APDS vs APHE, and Britain is basically pure APDS
Rank 6 and 7 are fine, Chieftains and Chally 1s are the peek of the tree imo.
Rank 8 is DOA
I’d say it’s worth it, at least for ground.
With it having a large selection of some of my favourite tanks. With the Sherman Firefly being one of, if not thee Sherman I like the most, Crusaders are also fun to play. 2.7, 4.7, 7.7, 8.7, 10.7 are some of the best ground lineups to play if limited to only TT stuff. (oh I guess 3.0 is one there with great picks like the Ram I), oh 8.0 is/was a good BR too. Recommendation: If going that high, get the Vickers tanks.
The worst part of the UK that I’ve played is the 6.X range. Where your guns either don’t work or you’re limited to slow bricks, which is a common trend of the worst of the tree.
As for air, the Spitfires are some really good fun. I’ve been enjoying the CF-188, but that’s a different story… ya, I’m not an air player.
I think it is pretty worth it, the lightning is loads of fun, the swifts are also good and there’s loads of good props as well. Haven’t gotten to rank 6 but the tornado F.3(ADV on italy) was one of my favourite jets for italy, so I would say it is worth the grind.
Only for air, although past spitfires I don’t think it has that much to offer
It is a great nation. It was my first nation to modern tanking, followed by Japan. I can’t provide a lot of output when it comes to air, but ground wise its great.
You get a couple of unique vehicles that are not available in any other tech tree, especially at the higher BR’s.
The challengers are a lot of fun in my opinion, great hull down beasts that can sometimes eat a lot of rounds to the turret as long as you keep your hull hidden, which shouldn’t be hard given its good gun depression.
As long as you understand that they play differently to the other MBT’s at their battle rating (they’re not as fast, so can’t secure early on positions), the key is to play a support role by going after teammates or take a hull down position and snipe.
There is no lineup in Britain (in my opinion) after 8.7 until 11.7 that isn’t fun.
For lower battle ratings, the logic is pretty much the same, you’re still slow and most of the times you can’t destroy enemy tanks with one hit because the main shell you will be using is AP until you unlock APDS, unlike the bigger nations that use the APHE shell. The key is to still play the support/sniper role. Make sure to aim for crew members, especially gunner/loader.
Once you unlock APDS (quite early compared to other nations) you can play more “defensively and agressively” and hit some good long shots as it travels really fast with little drop off, making it great for sniping. Downside is that it sometimes can ricochet of heavy armor, key will always be to aim for weakspots and being smart on what engagements to take or not.
Chally 1 is good, However I also think the chally 1 Mk3 should be at 10.3 due to the current state of 10.7
