it should be better at that rating now tho but the aim-7 is still shit tho on it they could move it down to 8.7
I would assume it to be so. It has an afterburner (albeit a slightly underwhelming power plant) and 4 air to air missiles. I personally never run the sparrows unless I get a full down tier.
One thing to note is that it has pretty decent guns with a generous ammo pool, as well as an extremely good low speed flight model. I find myself absolutely massacring enemies at low speeds with the combat or even landing flaps which provide a ludicrous amount of lift.

What about using the sparrows in Head-ons?
They don’t start pulling until the motor burns out, which is just so long… it ain’t worth it in that regard.

The niche use I have found for the sparrows is against helis in ground battles. If they just sit there spamming missiles, its a free kill.
Its amazing. The AIM-7C is useless but that’s fine, you have amazing turning performance and great guns
