Iris-t slm

I’m sure this will happen. Just look at Naval. The never built Soyuz is the most powerful capital ship @ test server, overshadowing all real existing WW2 naval assets :)

It will be interesting to see what they do to boost the Su-57.

Realistically in a 1 on 1 nothing should be beating the f22, I dont wanna sound like a fanboy now but from what pilots have been saying and what ive been reading that’s mostly true if its a fair 1 on 1 to it’ll be fun to see what gaijin does.

Was this tested? Cause PARS3 uses similar thermal imaging, you might hit Mi-28 choppers??!

It was a huge thing from the dev forums. From what I understand. Soviet helis can no longer be hit with an IR missile, whether that is an IRIS-T or an AGM-65

Ok, sounds horrific. What are you supposed to do ? As soon as this goes live ru players spawn Mi-28 and lol kill these shiny new SLM trucks.

I definetly remember shooting down Mi-28 with my UHT chopper. Maybe they changed it, though. I rarely play top tier anymore (KH-38 spam).

I have no idea what the new SAMs are gunna do. Especially with all the issues guiding anything ARH onto a heli at the moment in addition to that

I think its a single point for the ADATS / Brimstone 1 at the moment

Arent helicopters already fairly hard to lock onto with IR missiles?

Yup…

Yes. But not thermal imaging ones. Means its hard to get a lock with Stingers etc. But Tiger UHT never had an issue to get a lock with Pars 3LR.

I’m currently grinding the german SPAA line while waiting for the update and when trying to use the strela against helicopters I barely even get a lock and once I fire they just duck behind a hill doge it and then pop up to kill me.

Use the OSA or Flarakpz1. Its much better. Manual guidance is the bane of all helis.

Its the directional IR signature thing they;ve been adding (and I think testing) on helis. But Heat sigs in game are woefully modeled, (well they arent modeled, its all done using the thrust output of the engines and not any other heat signature modeling) but hopefully the helis are the test bed for better IR signature modeling for everything. That being said… yeah… fighting helis sucks unless you have the right kit.

I take Brimstones on teh Typhoon only for killing helis. For tanks I use PW4s

Do you think the updae is coming out this week?

Id guess Tomorrow up to maybe Thursday. I cant see any major reason why they would delay any longer than that

Tomorrow as in tuesday or wednesday, unsure what timezone you are in

Apologies. BST here, so technically tuesday is today, though for me its tomorrow :D

Could be in a few hours, or it could be wednesday or Thursday is my guess. Within the next 54 hours? (its rare, but we have had Friday updates too)

Id be surprised if it was delayed till next week without some pretty major reason for it.

I better get grinding then I got 294k left on the flarakrad and i dont wanna be super late for the slm

Yeah. I want to bank another 1-ish mil of SLs because I may need to buy Warspite in addition to Vanguard and expert Vanguard. What I should really do though is use the RP bonus from spading Warspite to unlock Vanguard, but probably slower than using my Talismanned Hood to grind it.

The update is pretty much guaranteed to shaft Sweden regarding AA, we could have gotten BAMSE quite comfortably in place of this abysmal option we received. Also, from testing, the SLS isn’t even good at short range. Sub 4km and the missile lacks the energy to maneuver and gain the target, more than 8 and it lacks the energy to even approach hitting a target.

We didn’t even get 120C or a better gripen to make up for the rubbish AA. Which should have already been here the same time EFT and Rafale dropped.

Its better then nothing but i guess it goes for every update, we got 1 vehicle but we could’ve gotten another one that would’ve been better. But the nerfs to the new spaa’s arent helping either. I was exited when the teasers first showed the EldE 98 but then the others got revealed and I realised that it might not be the beast it may have been portrayed as.
