i was just wondering if there was a posibility of it being added before 2028, obviosuly gajin wont delay the update just to add it to sweden now, but it would suck if we needed to wait until 2028 or possibly later
That adds an option for IRIS-T SLM then if the need arises.
like i said, i dont think so, with gaijin ground addition rate specially in the spaa area its gonna be rare if they do it
i feel like SLS being in sweden its nice, since SLS has a huge performance at shorter ranges over SLM and makes it a great addon for short range defense altough it still dosent fix the issue with longer ranged spaa’s it definitvely its more competitive than the ITO-90M, and sweden has to wait for the SLM to arrive too
Its planned for 2030 or something. Why would Gajin add it anytime soon? It’ll take some time to get it into service…
It is still a shame though. They could have done with adding Pantsir equivalent SAMs to the other 9 nations. Truly universal addition.
But as it stands
3x nations are getting longer ranged SAMs that dont appear to be anywhere near their IRL performance
2x Nation is getting something that is a little weaker than the Pantsir
1x Nation is getting something good for short range but not gunna be usable at long range
3x nations are getting absolutely nothing
im pretty sure they were trying to illustrate the point of germany not using SLS therefore were not getting SLS, same way as we dont operate 122s as they are a domestic variant of the german leopard, the gripen is idk honestly what they meant with it.
Their point was the SLM shouldnt go to sweden just because they signed a contract now.

This might be just me but the TTs should have some modicum of uniqueness instead of it all being copy paste same shit non stop. Leopards shouldnt have been added to france or italy same way as you can argue that we shouldnt have gotten a copy paste swiss hornet and an F5E.
Same way UK shouldnt have gotten SA Gripen (tho that was done before typhoon so its whatever) or how they shouldnt get Su30MKK nor Rafale. Nations should remain to some extent unique to represent their nations, not be made the cookie cutter copy of another nation.

one of my major issues is the laziness of gaijin to just add type 81 kai, i understand that they didnt add the multi sam before cuz it was still wip but japan just getting a radar version of the type 81 C that has 10 km range at max its an absolute joke, and to top it off its in the same truck instead of adding type 11

I agree. The last thing I want is a single Indian vehicle added to the british TT for example. What we’ve got already is ruining the TT and its set to continue.
But what Thodin is saying is that Sweden (or any other nation) shouldnt have gotten the Leopard 2 because it was German. That Sweden shouldnt have gotten the IRIS-T SLS because its German, etc etc. At least thats how I’ve read it.
Yeah… Japan got kinda screwed this major too. What should have been a very interesting and exciting update interms of SPAA seems to be more of a let down than anything else. Im just sat praying they add the Skysabre sometime this year.
i feel like UK got screwed the most, they actually had a good spaa that could be added, and gaijin just pretty much forgot about it, like not even an excuse for not adding it, you know its just that they forgot

Id personally add that honestly as long as the other nations have domestic variants of medium range SPAAs, like NASAMS for example, they shouldnt get SLM but instead get said systems now or “eventually” instead of everyone getting SLM.
also also because i was thinking about it, this wouldnt apply obviously if it was a combined project between multiple nations, like the typhoon for example, since then every nation that was working on the vehicle should get said vehicle
I saw something about the uk potentially getting the sky sabre and italy and france getting the namba in the future
But based on the Dev stream. I think France nad Italy are getting the MICA VLS thing next major and Britain might be getting nothing. We’ll have to wait and see
They operated a few trial tanks which were similar to the 122’s, just named them TVM. They weren’t adopted, instead Bundeswehr got the 2A5 as we know it.
But Ger army operated several of these. Instead of giving them to Ger TT, we never saw them ingame. In contrast other nations got even the most rediculous prototypes and subtree tanks.
