Iris-t slm

Yeah, it was okay.

Lmao

Considering that most top tier planes that are actually used can click six times for six kills I’d say it’s a fair trade.
And even then, you could still easily hunt the SLM by popping up and throwing a KH at the TEL then hiding again, it’s a slim chance the SLM will intercept the KH anyway.
But players need that dopamine of multi kills and just go up into the stratosphere to die, especially early on.
It was extremely good when it was released because it was novel, but now looking at the October stats the Sky Saber is catching up to SLM stats that have fallen because players got used to it.
I don’t doubt that due to this 4km nerf the stats will fall even more and SLM will be dethroned, which wouldn’t be bad in itself, it’s just infuriating that it’s because gaijin is either incompetent or willfully pretends this change was good.

I’ll refer you back to this, you’d have to be completely braindead to die to IRIS-T after the nerf, AGMs can still engage targets at 10 km, it pretty much means that we are back to the old status quo.

Launch your 6 Kh-38, dive, and get your free kills without ever being locked in the first place. The nerf was completely unwarranted and specifically targeted towards IRIS-T SLM. Not SL, not AIM-9X or FB-20, which all enjoy having 10 km lock range.

Gaijin has 0 faith in the community, seriously, I managed to evade and kill IRIS-T batteries back when it released, and we had mixed lobbies. All it takes to not die to it is to not stay painted by the radar, you search them, place a POI, use terrain to stay hidden and attack them at close range.

But now Gaijin simplified the process by giving players 6 extra kilometers where they can have their brains turned off and not fear IRIS-T. And the fact that you have to guide the missile for that long is just pathetic for a system this modern.

They couldn’t even give it some type of IOG+SRC mode if DL broke, the missile will simply fly dead until the radar sees the target again. I’ve had missiles fly past planes on IOG, but never bothered locking the target because it doesn’t have the means to without DL.

Would we consider every suffer of low-skill playerbase a valid basis for the nerf?
Pre nerf you just had to preflare or wiggle it out of energy, it’s not that hard.
Meanwhile buk can still rip your wings of even if you’re multipathing. Today I got killed by it while rearming on a field, ON THE GROUND.
If we take your line of thought though. Was pantsir addition justified back in the time? Was it?

HARMs coming half of next year, they will show the position of enemy SAMs, and SLM will still be gimped to just 4 km lock range.

yes because planes can move and defend in 3 dimensions, SPAAs especially the big new ones are shit out of luck when it comes to cover and defense on about 80% of all maps

Slm for sweeden as well, lol

SLM stands for “See Lob Miss” from now on.

This post was flagged by the community and is temporarily hidden.

Probably not it hasn’t been delivered NASAM’s FIN II would make more sense

You could bother to actually try and find SPAA for them.

I really hope its not the SLM since id rather that stay unique to Germany but snails gotta snail.

???
How a missile that was already not respecting it’s IRL measures overtuned?

By the way, the missile count bug on the TELs has been in the game for over 2 weeks… like bro.

Even Stony avoid the question, at least he should appear here to give the source or explanation. Instead remove my post about IRIS-T SLM 4km IR seeker change.

Doubt they will, when they stay this quiet it means that they don’t care and that the change was a deliberate nerf, otherwise they would’ve answered long ago.

It’s this intransparency which causes distrust and discontent in the community. Changes are made without an obvious reason, not even to say “it’s just a nerf”. No statement about what they intend to achieve with said changes. They simply say nothing, in expectancy that everybody just swallows it because they have to and hope it gets forgotten over time. Some changes don’t even get listed in the changelogs anymore (looking at the drastic change of the AIM-9M IRCCM behavior).

I mean, they DID say why they did the change…

We really need the lock range nerf reverted, Datalink is a joke. Missiles fly past planes and do nothing on IOG. Firing at targets past 6 km is a waste of ammo, the lock range nerf made this thing impossible to use, and DIRCM resistance wasn’t “improved” because of said buff nerf.

Here is some footage I recorded. The intention behind the lock range nerf was simply to make aircraft have an easier time, it wasn’t done out of generosity for ground players who have to die to helicopters because helicopters are still f’ing immune to it.

This is peak Mi-28 gameplay, climb, press hover and auto-win. This game is so rotten.

I stopped playing top-tier after a Mi-28NM tanked 8 IRIS-T SLs, repaired and killed me, but are the AH-64E or Z-10ME that uncommon to see? Everywhere I look it’s just the Mi being complained upon
