i get that, but that is only specific to AAs
ppl in tanks didnt feel a direct impact from the dazzlers alone, they were only affected after the helis got FnF
No lol, i stopped playing sweden top tier when they screwed the CV90120 2002 weight with the weight of the CV90120 2006 model. I have no interest in Leos in my CV90 TT
I mean i was affected anyways, i still get stuck on maps unable to move and without any ammo to shoot the 6x KH-38MT heading towards me, guess i should’ve brought a better SPAA
“irist slm”at 2.49.0.87——2.50.0.17 beta IIR 10km→4km I don’t want this thing to get out of beta.
this missile speed already slower than IRL (1029m/s). And the IR lock IRL around 25km. Make it into 4km was a crime.
if the radar would work properly it would be a buff because the closer the missile is the harder it is to flare it
We will called it as a buff if the missile got his memories intake. Like if enemy hiding then pop up again the missile will renew his target based on his “memory”. Not like current situation where the missile got amnesia.
Nope, not at all. That means that a simple dip to a ground level would allow you to evade a missile. Second is that it’s pretty much unflarable now as well, as it should be.
Warthunder is such a realistic game, now you would be able to multipath an IRIS-T…
you cant becasue the missile will still lock onto you from 4km
Even if your radar doesn’t pick a target and the target have changed direction?
The difference is that current IRIS-T isn’t going easy on CAS doing simple pop’n’dips. You poped your head for too long? Too bad, now missile knows where it is and where you are.
After this change it would look like this:
1)Su-34 pops at around 15km, shoots 3-4 missiles.
2)You react and send a present his way.
3)He dips
4)Your missile eats the ground, because your radar told it, before Su-34 went off radar, that it’s going underground, remember, your missile in non-locked state is pretty dumb, well, in this game it is.
5)He just flees.
Oh, almost forgot.
6)You die.
One hand they always state how historical this game is. For every change you need tons of original documentation. But when it suits their narrative, Gajin just makes their own stats out of nothing.
Irl the thermal imager has a range of over 20km. Ingame it was around 10 and now its 4. Less than a stinger or other simple IR missiles.
Not much left of the mythical Iris T SLM system. Which has an IRL hit rate of almost 100% and is ordered in the dozens by alot countries.
You are kind of wrong here.
The seeker keeps its current range. What changes, is when it activates. Now it is 10km away from target. On the dev, it activates 4km away, but still has 10km range.
Will it activate when Radar loses track around 10km or more?
no
So its 4km range, still.
This is a pretty drastic nerf, this means you can fly in most maps from a safe distance without ever being locked onto with IR. This nerf probably comes from the people complaining about getting sniped from the airfield. 25 KM IIR lock range nerfed to just 4, I hate these devs.
And this nerf stems from the fact that maps are absurdly small for IRIS-T, just make the maps larger already.
it was never 25km

It is in real life, but I’m sure the seeker activates at the most optimal time based on the distance to the target, there is probably some logic programmed before launch, but the game doesn’t take that into consideration.
So you get worse lock range than stingers because maps are too small for 10km IR lock, which meant airfield sniping and that’s a no for CAS mains.
Wounder why they can’t nerf KH or LMUR seekers. I’m tired of getting sniped from really far away in a tank which can’t even eyeball that far . Wounder why its acceptable for a heli or plane to snipe ground stuff from really far away. But when a up to date SPAA system snipes enemy jets, its nerfed sooner or later.
I still remember all those KH-38 threads. Hundrets of players urged Gajin to somehow nerf it. Over many months of air to ground massacres… but nothing. Not the slightest nerf or adjustment. But when its something different…they just do it in no time. Simply a patch log, reduced x to y and its done.
Probably depending on estimated target type and signature size. Since NCTR can tell you what target it is I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a database of lock range estimations for every weather condition for every target type.
It’s a su34>We could lock it up to 40 parsecs > pop the cap > touch him.
