Iris-t slm

I think it’s already possible for DL to switch back, (I don’t know how you would pre flare an IIR seeker).

I’m guessing this change in the dev is for making munition interception more reliable, as DL+IOG interception almost never works, if I’m interpreting things right.

No. That distance defined how far away the seeker can turn on.
Before it was 10km, now only 4km way from a tagert postion.
That mean if the target is 4.5km away, the missile seeker will not turn on, not untill it is exactly 4km away.

While it will help when the target can be seen by a radar, if the target goes out ouf the radar fov, the missile will fly on IOG for much longer, 6km more to be precise, increasing chance of the target leaving its predicted path, causing missile to miss.

That does not happen, the moment seeker starts to tracking, the DL is cut. If the missile misses, it will try to guide itself back onto the target path using IOG, and it might reaquire the target thanks to that. No DL takes place tho.

Oh okay

Pretty sure it got nerfed or buffed?

Depending, either a slight buff or a big nerf.

And look what got buffed again lolol

they were literally broken

So is CLAWS but i dont see fix for it?

whats wrong with claws?

Is there a bug report for it or something? Or is this some artistic freedom decision again?

Theres literally 5 bug reports accepted for it 5 months ago

It’s just another nerf with no explanation and no reason behind it.

The lock range of the seeker should be up to 25km since according to Saab the lock range match the max range of the IRIS-T.

Got nu-uh’d

They think it’s another marketing lie XD

The only thing i could think of is that Gaijin somehow found a source on the ballistic cap that the IRIS T SLM has over its seeker, which gets blown away for the terminal approach but 4km sounds insanely low for a 2022 IR missile

may or may not be a variable thing

No, guys, you don’t understand. That’s like a massive damn nerf. See, now ALL kh-38 slinging trash will be able to just escape with ez, while leaving you 6 quickly approaching presents. You still can’t kill mi-28. And your radar sucks as well, that’s iris-t’s death pretty much. Mind you it’s one of the slowest top tier spaa missiles.
Germany now doesn’t have neither working cas, neither working SPAA. Very nice.

Well in the game rn the missile will lost their memory once enemy disappear from radar too, and when the enemy appear on the radar again the missile will be like “nah definately not my target from before” then decided to use IOG until end or hit the ground. And push the player to launch other missile and enemy keep repeating this strategy until you lost entire your missile to thin air. This missile wont work like how it should be until they fix the radar behavior (Look-forward and look-back) and this missile amnesia issue.

The ballistic cap is jettisoned at the optimal distance/range to the target for maximum aerodynamics but I still don’t truly grasp what the change is all about, it seems to me that the lR lock range now kicks in at 4km instead of 10? Either way, this thing is still seriously underperforming.

I’ve had enough of top tier, the game feels like it’s held together with duct tape and gum and I can’t go a game without encountering bugs and glitches that break half the game and ruin the experience. The game just can’t cope with the complexity of modern equipment.
