You can spam all 16 missiles in a Hail Mary attempt to avoid dying, doesn’t mean it’s the best course of action or how it should be. Datalink being bugged right now means all of your missiles miss the moment the aircraft launches anything in front of it, so anyone can exploit this and use it to their advantage.
Also a hit rate of 50% on a modern missile is abysmal…
I’ve tried maining this thing, and I could not stomach how bad it is 80% of the time, I only use it for revenge or once I’ve got no other options or need SP for CAS, playing it from start is just impossible.
This is the perfect example of what I am talking about, I was desperately trying to fire at the Su-30 but Datalink kept switching targets all the time, the only 3 missiles that tried to go for the Su-30 failed and hadn’t even tried to track with IR.

The best part from that video we can see only 1 IRIS-T able to engage 1 KH-38 and only the last 3 missile trying to track enemy plane.

With all these new SPAAs its not really smart to spawn air, except for some edge cases (like rocky pit maps with lotsa cover or you’ve got super ordnance like KH-38).
The best lineup uses planes which don’t bump your Ground RB BR. EF2000, Tiger helis etc all bump the GRB BR ceiling, means you get no down tiers whatsoever.
You either include just jets/helis which are max GRB BR of 12.0 (Nado or F-4F ICE) or don’t use air at all. Believe me, its far more efficient. Anti air systems are really strong and air assets cost incredible amounts of spawn points. Its usually not worth it for mediocore jets/ordnance. Especially if you have jets like EF sitting at 13.0 GRB BR ceiling (lol, insane).
When you play a 12.0 GRB lineups, you dodge most of the KH-38 slingers and high end enemy MBTs as well. You get tons of down tiers with easier opposition to fight.
Swiss F-18 Hornet is at 12.7 GRB BR btw, with better ordnance than EF (Mavs are F&F). This also has to be said. Don’t bring the EF into GRB?
The point is you have 16 missiles which may equate to 8 - 10 hits.
They are FnF, they can be launched from behind cover and launchers can be spread around.
Compare that with other nations SAMS…The Norwegian system 4 missiles
TADS…only the 9X is reliable.
While you want a realistic 98+% interception rate the game does not.

Shooting down the missiles is better for the team though as you can never intercept the aircraft before the missiles have been launched.
Killing a Su-30 while ignoring the Kh-38 will lead to 5-6 deaths (usually yours) and net no benefit.
Typhoons on the German team do well, I have died to far more Brimstones playing as a British player now than I have before. Especially late game and when you are teamed up with Russia who dont have a brand new FnF SAM
Not to say Typhoon is perfect using Brimstone effectively is far more skill dependant than say a AGM-65 or Kh-38
Depends which planes against which AAs. If you are talking about the SLM and maybe CLAWS sure, but if you die to a Spyder, EldE or Tan Sam in an EFT that is a pilot issue.
Probably because it’s an easy kill for AA flight performance wise.

I’ll take EFT with 4 Paveway+12 Brimstones plus 6 missiles to 4 AGM+4 missiles on slow platform any day.
Mavericks are slow and not reliable anymore, meanwhile Brimstones and Paveway IV’s are quite reliable in terms killing ground units.

My take: Don’t bring anything above 12.0 in a 12.0 tank lineup.
Guaranteed uptiers are not worth giggle factor.
I think it would help if sytem could swap one of the lancher vehicles for the Skyranger 30 for short range defense.

doubt it can be controlled from an iris-t slm TOC but as long as they share a datalink it could help by itself

Maybe we could have AI controlled F-35s to provide CAP for the SAMs…

So Pantsir S1 is unkillable ? It is the same thing just distributed among multiple vehicles.

integrated would also be seeing the same things. not only ‘being able to control literally every type of air defense from a single point’…
that does not really exist yet
Germany has yet to order IBCS, IRIS-T SLM is not integrated with IBCS yet either and Skyranger is still in development
Even tho they are not that strong KH29TE’s on J11B are quite good.
