Iris-t slm

if you live in perfect world this link would give us good information and help us find out is it real or not but guess we will never know

aim9x literally does not work on dev server

and the stats are just a copy of initial IRST

That’s true. Maybe I should wait for further update.Apologize for that.

even without me pointing out that148kn total for SLM at 155kg Weight is low
in War Thunder’s 18.8 kN for 5 seconds /5.4 kN for 10 seconds thrust is physically impossible to reach Mach 3

devs are already locked in their belief that SLM can’t even reach mach 2.1 lol.
as with all nato equipment, they search for the worst performance datapoint they can find regardless of source and then build from that (all other evidence is capitalist marketing lies of course)

its current effective range is roughly 10km. everything i’m seeing says >30km for effective range irl
so imo you’re exactly right in saying it’s underperforming by 3x, which is honestly the worst gimp i’ve seen from them in 11 years. amazing really

The German Bundeswehr states the IRIS-T SLM has an effective Range of 40km not just max range.
„ effektive Längenreichweite 40 Kilometer“

we need classified info then

Is anyone perhaps compiling another report about maximum speed of the SLM?

our only hope then

Don’t even start it honestly, i’d rather not have this entire report about SLM get locked because someone is incentivizing that. We have accepted reports about range of the missile we just need to find more data about the speed.

so the IRIST SLM gets nerfed arbitrarily, right?

Gaijin only do changes in their own interest and will

What is their interest in constantly nerfing the hell out of any new NATO equipment that comes to the game? It is the same with Brimstone to which they responded with “there would be no counterplay”, yet there is so much counterplay to the Kh38s right?

Perhaps there is information about the time it takes for the missile to travel a specific distance?

not even worth to research iris-t spaa until they give it the proper range, it should absolutely melt planes at 20km meanwhile kh38mt slingers are still immune
I can imagine that if this was russian spaa it wouldnt be nerfed so much below its real performance

There is a source that claims ~1min TTK vs a >30km range, 12km high, actively defending target, but pretty sure in that vein, thats the best we got, and gaijin doesnt care.

If it’s the source I’m thinking of, we’re already aware of it, but it’s not the kind of source gaijin accepts: Iris-t slm - #31 by njits23

In any case, the target wasn’t at 12km altitude, that was just the missiles apogee according to this news report. The distance was 30km in about sixty seconds.

Unless you can find a Diehl spokesperson or press release giving these same numbers, we can’t use them.

By gaijins own standards, websites are considered secondary sources, so its not that the source isnt good enough, its that they dont like what it says and know we probably cant find anything more detailed.

As a sidenote, the IRIS-T was nerfed to 50G on a dubious reading of a single secondary source, so its pretty clear that gaijin is just picking and choosing what they want to believe regarding the IRIS-T, and what they want to believe is that it sucks.

does it mention what type of targets ? in wt only super sonic fighters matter , irl it could have been about subsonic cruise missiles , drones etc.
