The 60km is the distance from the control unit/radar. So you can have one launcher 20km west of the radar and another launcher 20km east of the radar (+ 20km north/south) Giving a total of 60km coverage. The actual missiles range is still cited as 40km.

Thats the issue, they only support Mach 3 (relativ) so the best what we can exspect is 1000m/s
Though the email response should basicly be a slamdunk proving the SLM to be underperforming atm, there isnt a competitor system in-game atm, so not much insentive for gaijin to fix it anytime soon, even if the bug report gets accepted
wait can you show the mail sender? its just veracity concerns, as much of a fan of the IRIS-T i also wanna keep it fair and not jump into conclussions straight up
I’m surprised they replied, this should make for a nice bug report to boost the speed at least, currently it’s not Mach 3 (and probably even faster but on average but it should be Mach 3). Currently, it’s like 100 m/s slower than it should be.
Yep, thats why I woukd say we should wait and keep the new mail, since the speed isnt an key issue currently, but mainly the Radar/DL
