Can’t really believe Gajin did that. So pointless, expecially on these small maps without alot space to hide.
EF-2000 still with gimped ordnance, while Russia is doing cruise missile strikes from their airbase - untouchable.

What’s with this update slm is absolute shit gets 1 flared by everything heli ? Forget pop two flare and good bye 👋 . It is not hitting anything something is wrong after the update
According to the brochure this should not be possible, the minimum release speed is like 500-600ish km/h, so it would require a bit more speed and altitude to release but not like it matters in game, still, it should be a nerf worth adding, so that it takes more time to spam them. Instead of just barely hovering above the airfield below 500 km/h.
Gaijin can’t nerf fictitious Russian UFO Himars launcher
Its the best radar of the new bunch from what ive seen, though i have noticed a trend that nearly all of them have ghosts tws every once in a while though it may just be me. The weakest radar of the bunch is the Elde last i checked.
Additionally ive noticed the radars can get overwhelmed with them tracking all the munitions that it will constantly deselect the Su-27 for example and just keep changing lock to the KH-38MT.
This is a problem with pretty much all Gaijin radars in general (outside of ESA radars which update their targets nearly instantaneously), it has been fun dealing with it in ARB.
As for target switching, that has been a problem for the Pantsir for ages, so I have little hope in that getting fixed anytime soon.
Relative Speed Mach 3, hmmmmm
So 40km it should hit target no problemm nice
So the max range should be around 60km and effective range is 40km. And currently in the game only work for around 20km and 25km for not maneuvering target (25km from my further kill so far). Dang… this missile underperforming.
No. The max range of the missile is 40 km, but the launcher can be placed 20 km away from the control vehicle allowing targets 60 km away from the control vehicle to be engaged.
*Effective Range (the range the missiles probability to kill is high enough to think about firing it). Max Range would be higher.
Max range can be effective. The missile might be limited by for example battery, while having more than enough energy to effectively engage something at the end of its life.
Update, my longest kill with IRIS-T SLM around 28km. The Su-33 just doin cobra until my slow IRIS-T send him back to hangar. Luckily my last missile track him using IR TRK. 3 of my missile just tracking him using IOG+DL end up kiss the ground.
Well, I would think that if you design a missile which’s battery can’t last the longest possible engagement range/time, you did something really wrong ^^
Yes, that would be a waste, but you never know. That very much might be limited by for example command link. There are multitude of factors that could cause it.
In case of SLM 40km was refered to as both max and effective, so it might be a case here.
Not saying it is without a doubt, but it is a possibility.
I always only ever read 40 km as “effective range” and never as “max range”. Even the mail from Diehl states 40 km “effective range”.
There was one graph from the Bundeswehr here somewhere that stated 50 km (which I would see as maximum range), so 40 km effective range would make sense. Cannot seem to find it anymore but it was also posted in this thread if my memory serves me right.
In this case I was reffering to text based sources where every source states “effective range 40 km”.
I didn’t find any which states “max range 40 km” and the manufacturer also states 40 km as “effective range”.
I’ve been killed at airbase before, sth along the lines of 32km away from the IRIST launcher.
