Im still curious when they decide to add the “show all tws targets” report into the game. Also has anyone written a bug report about the slm switching to new targets almost exclusively? Since it hinders the spaa a lot, and I need to wait till someone unloads all of his munitions till I can fire with a good hit chance (Unless under 12km then I just launch and turn off radar).
Good, I like CAS tears. The more SLM equivalents we get in the next update the better.
Why didn’t the Gaijins give IRIS T and Tan-Sam the ability to scan sectors? This would solve the problem with slow target updating on the radar. IRIS T has 90 degrees of horizontal scanning, Tan-Sam 110 degrees. I suggest giving this mode to the control as a rotation of the tank turret, where the mouse turns, the radar looks there.
These modes are not fictitious and are used in reality.
The noise immunity of the IRIS matrix seeker in the game also raises questions; they easily go to false thermal targets, which should not happen in reality. Matrix seekers were developed to counter thermal targets.
i know russian bias addicts are seething hard but the IRIS-T SLM is still far below where it should be right now
- inefficient path to targets - the missile makes multiple useless turns wasting a ton of energy and leading to even easy targets evading it
- losing lock on ATGMs, particularly Kh38 - IRIS T apparently fails to capture what should be the obvious heatsig of a burning and/or supersonic missile
- missile crashes into the ground tracking low alt targets - modern missiles (long range SAM in particular) know where the ground is and won’t mindlessly crash trying to lead a target
i’ve been in multiple games where enemy flankers never even leave the airfield, they shoot six Kh38 and land. sometimes they still have enough strip ahead of them that they can land without even turning around
since kh38 kills light vehicles in a 90 meters radius, six of them can easily kill multiple SAM in spawn. all while never exposing themselves, and even IRIST cant intercept them.
they still cry for a nerf though
Gaijin didn’t add proper IIR seekers for the sake of game balancing and they all have tracking suspension and fov shrinking
LMAO, game balancing. And what the person above described is also game balance? Aviation destroys with impunity practically without taking off from the airfield.
I have already described many things about SPAA/SAM systems that are broken in our game, but the Gaidzins are not even going to fix them.
Apparently, so that pilots can continue to bomb vehicles with missiles from respawn with impunity.
the thing is that especailly the IRIS-T SLS and 9x will be copied over to planes sooner or later
and i dont think that players wouldnt be happy if the IRCCM is implemented differently on what is the same missile or when they have to face unflareable missiles in ARB
but i agree with you, they shouldnt be this easy to flare, i was just trying to explain the reason for it
part of the problem could also be how DL is currently implemented;
once your radar was chaffed once the DL will not reaquire the plane you launched at even if it isnt chaffing anymore
From my experience, this Su-34 - Su-30SM always pop up around 21-23km if they are flying too high in flat map during launch their KH-38MT. So good luck to engaged that far target. And only appear 1s in the radar. While this radar need 2 times circle or more to make the missile guided to target precisely. Or for long range it need keep on your radar until it activated IR seeker. While in the game the IR seeker only activated on short range (I always so happy when seing my missile got IR track). And i just found funny maneuver with turn off aoa limiter and doing weird maneuver on plane until bleeding speed can make IRIS-T become dumb during DL+IOG guidance and make the missile kiss the ground or go higher to space.
Did you make a bug report? I don’t see one.
No one has file a bug report on that yet afaik. It doesn’t affect just the SLM, it affects every new SAM with that trash TWS scanner. I’m looking forward to someone filing a bug report on this issue.
Nice. Thanks for filing the report
Hello No one, me Dontkev ))))
AMRAAM and ARH missiles in general are destricted to PD mode when seeker points below horizon. If its looking above, then switches to Pulse in order to maintain track on notching targets, however it also becomes chaff vulnerable.
Well, CAS is Gaijin cashcow and advertisement for tankies to play aviation. Its kinda hard to sell something that doesn’t look good.
At least for me, amraam does not switch to pulse. If target is “not moving” , it just turns the seeker off, and flies on DL.
