So they fixed the proxy missile bug. The other major bugs left for the SLM and the other SAMs are fixing the radar bugs. Hopefully they add better filters for the radar screen too cause I do NOT want to see my allies on that list. Then the weird lofting behavior, and lets hope we get the sustainer back because I’m sure we all want a lore accurate SLM with 40km effective range. On another note, has anyone found info on the IIR lock range for the IRIS T SL? The current lock range for the seeker in game is far too short.
Radar is a bit of a mess at the moment, so it’s the list jumping all over the place. Gaijin just should get rid of friendlies from the IFF list or have them be foldered away in another tab and have enemy aircraft be the top priority on the list. Datalink is also a bit bugged at the moment, missiles sometimes switch targets mid-flight because Datalink decided to track something else.
The double “S” shaped loft it does dumps so much energy as well, it should be top priority in to-do list in my opinion.
So just now my IRIS T SL just passed within 3 meters of a kh25ml and failed to proxy. So it looks like the bug is still not completely fixed.
That’s might just be an old proxy issue by itself, have had stuff like that before the major update
every once in a while, proxy simply doesn’t detonate on dropped payloads
usually noticeable when you got 4+ of them heading your way and one manages to slip past even if it’s almost a direct hit
Insane stat.
I think its a similar situation to the SEAD event, where ppl need to learn to play with a new system in-game.
Stats should drop as ppl figure out what they’re doing in jets. I havent had much problem with them, tho I have died a handful of times when I made obvious range mistakes, and they’ve definitly limited my effectivness at striking other ground targets.
39 ground kills? lol
This mainly applies only to planes 12.7 - 13.0. For 11.3 - 12.3, this spaa is a huge overkill.
It is much more likely that it will fall due to the fact that people will simply fly less. As it was with the pantsir.
One was me ))))
Sadly it was an friendly one…
It’s hilarious how people are absolutely having a mental breakdown because of how op the IRIS-T is meanwhile I just had a ka-50 flare literally all 16 of my missiles, Su-39 defeating my missile and killing me by literally flying straight and flaring or F-5 defeating my missiles and killing me by again, flying straight.
Seems like all you have to do is literally spam flares and the IRIS-T is useless. Whoah, such OP SPAA!
And lets not even mention the Z10ME and MI28NM having a magical aura that makes these new SPAAs literally irrelevant.
But what makes the IRIS-T not fun to play the most is the maps. Like 70% of the maps you can’t go anywhere, hide your launchers, change positions. Almost like Advance to the Rhine is an okay map when you’re playing your Jumbo Sherman, but for these modern massive systems it’s just unplayable. From top of my head the worst maps where you’re better of not spawning the IRIS-T includes: Japan, 38th parallel, Mozdok, Normandy, Rhine, middle east, test site, sun city, abandoned factory (might the the worst of al!), Space port, Sweden and many more.
Years ago some of the older maps used to MUCH bigger and better suited for SPAAs such as Carpathians, Sands of Sinai, Eastern Europe. Y’all are absolutely underestimating how big of an impact the maps make on the gameplay and fun aspect.
Even IRIS-T have more issue when come to kill Harrier. I dunno why, but Harrier smh managed to make 4 of my IRIS-T miss, and yeah… the reason because flare and while hovering maneuver.
Pantsir is half of this, next rus SPAA gotta be competitive
I have been killing IRIS-T SLM’s with my F-16 Aj cuz i dont have the F-2 yet
Its probably not the flares, they have such a good seeker FOV they cant get flared by helis reallistically, however there Is still a chance on flaring It by shooting línes of flares on intervals while going up and down, has worked a few times, similar to magic 2’s
HOW DUDE TELL ME PLEASE
(Yes its a sentence dear forum)
Was on the Holland map, I placed my arty on an cap since at the time the enemys were capturing it, well an friendly S1 decided that he wanted to push directly on that cap, he arrived the same time as my Arty strike…
Average S1 teammate going straight towards artillery
SPAA which can be used vs. ground always have different stats than missile-only ones.
Would be interesting to know how to kill 30+ ground units in an Iris T truck.
through arty and while enemy drone have range less than700m and your missile just missed the scout drone then randomly hit poor guy with his lovely light armor.
Wont work, because the IRIS-T has an Min altitude of 25m in game under that it wont explode
