Issue is there’s literally no picture online of the IRIS-T SL missile without the cap because it’s ejected with gas mid flight and it would be difficult to model without a solid clear picture for accuracy but it’s not like Gaijin works entirely on accuracy for some things.

the irist make a thermal picutre of its target witch gets updatet on its travel to the target if the heat source dose not have the shape of the target then the missile will ignore the heat source.

thats a rough explanation how the irist works irl but in game it just like a genaric ir missile that can track any heat source

the IRIS-T is a 60G thrust vectoring unflareable missile with 30km of range and being able to be fired at targets behind you

i ask you again would you have fun fighting against a EF with 6 unflareable and undodgeable missiles

so the thing is most planes in that time have shit like DIRCM i.e. DIRECTIONAL infrared counter measures, (CIRCM) or some other kind of defeting iir missiles…

and by the way this is the thread for the aas not the planes for planes
stuff like this is way to advanced for the planes

what i meant by having iir for the aas is that pilots need to be more carfull and not just fly 20km in shoot a fuck ton of nonexisting missiles and fucking off or just flying 5 m above the ground
