The most pressing issue for me are enemy ground units. As if they’re looking just to kill Iris T systems. They rush the spawn area, igonore all objectives and take all trucks out in a few seconds.
The truck is just so huge and slow, has like zero interia. Its also not really possible to relocate like I do it with other SPAA units. That the collosion model of the skyhigh radar dish remans the same when retracted, worsens everything alot. You can’t use bridges and tunnels. For some maps this means your’re locked in at the spawn more or less.
The whole system needs a rework. Most importantly: More space to positions yourself, so you won’t get MGed by a mad T-90 amok rush gang just 3 mins after game start. After watching replays I guess they’re just watching the smoketrail from missile launches and show up there in no time.
I also got dish-sniped with HE. Maps are not really supporting this thing from a ground perspective.
PS: Out of curiosity…when you groundkills this Iris system, do you get a full rank VII kill for each vehicle? Or do just radar trucks matter?
No point in spawning their planes as long as the GOAT hasn’t been dealt with beforehand.
To make it really work, these clumsy systems need a special spawn outside the ground map. So they can focus to repel air threats. Rights now its all a bit lol. These things are thrown on maps which offere zero protection from ground.
Nah they need to be vulnerable to tanks. For the Balance triangle to work in WT tanks need to be vulnerable to air, air needs to be at least vulnerable to AA and in turn AA needs to be vulnerable to tanks.
So they shouldn’t get their own seperate area where they alone can go, but making the map bigger would never hurt.
Just had this. We decided to deploy the SAMs behind the spawn on a small forest clearing as best compromise between protection and undisturbed radar cones. The buildings before also block LOS a bit, as well as the trees. All other pos’s up there are flat and easy to scan with thermal viewers.
Despite we positioned behind the spawn, we got a visit from 4 T-90s they pushed through our spawn and took out all deployed vehicles in no time. They got killed, but all AA was gone. They even ignored to play the objective and lost the match. How are you supposed to play this IRIS multi vehicle sys against this suicide attitude? As I said, no protection. You don’t even see them coming, since you don’t see anything from your enviroment when you use the new radar screen.
The match before was on Breslau, the ruined city. Couldn’t use bridges, cause truck + radar model is too high. So all SPAAs were crammed together on this tiny spawn island. Guess what happened.
Before that, my radar dish was sniped on one of the big open maps, well ofc it sticks out…Gajin thx for your map design. Sigh.
Nah they need to fix it. I can’t even fire my missiles. I don’t know why and there’s no damage to planes. Like bro I shot like 3 missiles, and nothing. i cant event shoot a drone down like wft 1 missile go HIT only NO DESTROY BUT HIT
god the loft behaviour is still not fixed
You can’t intercept KH-38, the missiles just phase through. I also have massive issues to score kills, its very unreliable. Alone for a gliding GBU I had to fire 3 missiles until finally one hit.
Dunno, Flarakrad is alot better than this multi vehicle hell. Kh-38 jets are too op. We need something against these. Iris-T seems not up to the task. You can launch a dozen missiles, the KH-38 get always through and kill everyone while the SU carrier jet dives away, IRIS is hot garbage right now. Also too vulnerable to splash damage and to SLOW + too big. You also lack massive feedback from the game client. With other SPAA you have the optics. See the missile flying. Here you have a contact list and click on nametags. You don’t really see what happens.
Welcome to the same problem the pantsir has had for over a year, at least your missiles are fnf. I don’t expect it to be fixed any time soon. Their implementation of ground radars with tws is completely broken.
Also unless im not using it right why do you even need to lock planes with the irist? I just 1-2 click and the missile is out. You dont need to keep a lock like saclos sams.
Ive had all mine intercepted before, id wait to judge until they fix this proxy mess at least, seems extremely buggy for not just air.
Ive also intercepted them in mine and died to them being unable to shoot one down it just seems like a mess.

IRIS-T SLS and Blk1 does not feature a datalink. This is an addition with Block 2
After 2 days playing SLM, the best strategy is to find high building or big rock that closest to enemy plane/heli might shown up (if your team have more SPAA) and put your launcher there, move the radar to the position where your radar can see enemy clearly (behind rock and building will be much better and only let them see radar). After everything prepared, once enemy use scout drone (PROP in radar) just slap it (minimum range 0,7km, it wont work if less that 0,6km). If you saw Rusky main turn into artymode player and you can’t find their scout drone, he might be player from China squadron or you just being scouted.
The main issue (except about munitions), enemy rushing to your spawn or around spawn area then sweep the area to hunting SPAA (your teammate too busy with other else). And another issue… I have no f idea how to shot comanche that hovering from 7km and I can see him clear as the day and can’t do anything because my radar can’t see him.
Community Bug Reporting System Iris T SLM Camo cant be unlocked becouse the launcher scores the kills, but the camos require the radar to kill the players, this could also effect other multi vehicle sams.
Also the radar performance is really bad, it detects even small objects but everything else is trash, refresh rate, has no aesa, looses lock when target is closer then 1km, overflight has a area of no detection and the thing that annoys me the most after the elevation and depression of the radar detection is that that if you have selected a target to launch to and another target is detected, it automaticly switches to the new target…
This bug report is accepted btw!
I even can’t see how many missile launched to target… and the list pretty annoying that keep change position when trying to select target.
