Yes indeed my bad i thought you were referring to them not being on Attack Helicopters. But you are correct they are however not reliable enough or powerful enough to defeat more modern IIRs.

Well you COULD say that the system is called “IRIS-T SL” while SLS, SLM and SLX use different missiles. So we could call them S-Missile, M-Missile and X-Missile :D
Would be fun if SLM and SLX become modifications (SLS being the default missile) so you could spade the SLX with a much longer range for the current SLM system.

So it looks like developers think SLS and SLM missiles are same? literally wt* SLS is short range missile SLM is medium range missile and is larger SLX long ranger which in development will probably be capable 80 so also may be larger

Gaijin thinks the SLM is just a worse SLS. The SLM is a dedicated ground launched version of the regular IRIS-T, and therefore it should achieve better performance than SLS. But Gaijin thinks otherwise.
