I just back playing this game several days, why this IRIS-T keep losing track or not track the target at all.

You mean this? Where the missile flies “on rails” independent of its AoA because of this god forsaken “fixed double loft” behavior? (Hint: look at the AoA of the missile frame by frame, you will be surprised)

They accepted the “double loft” issue quite some time ago (after stating “the missile doesn’t double loft → not a bug” on earlier reports where you would have to be blind to not see it). They never acted on or, god forbid, fixed it since then. I have the inkling that they just accepted it to have their peace and quiet again but called this double loft “orientation phase” to justify its behavior, so they don’t see the need to fix a thing which isn’t brocken in their opinion.

I was regarding the “minimum distance” in your post, which is undermined by the unnecessary “flying on rails” behavior. That’s why I answered to your post ^^

Diehl BGT Defence conducted two test firings of the missile and demonstrated its mechanical and aerodynamic capabilities as well as operational performance at the Overberg Test Range in May 2011. The first prototype of the IRIS-T SL missile was test fired against a drone in December 2012.

So we’re once again using sources that don’t even really relate to the missile as it is today, to basically nerf it? The missile didn’t even physically exist at the time, seeing as the FIRST PROTOTYPE was only fired 4 years later…

First, the G-limit, now weight which will likely nerf its already struggling i.e underperforming long range performance.

Why is lowering the weight bad? Wouldn’t it have better acceleration if the weight is lowered and thus be better?

lower weight = less inertia

less inertia = faster decceleration

Faster acceleration but overall less inertia and worse long range performance due the mass loss. The source being used to nerf it is from 2008, before the missile even existed in the first place.

Edit: Overall worse acceleration due to the solid propellant loss, so it is a massive nerf. It all depends on how Gaijin interprets the source.

I see you added 2 more slides to your report. Is there anything that can potentially give them a leeway to nerf any aspect of the missile? So we could counter-report

The two extra slides were actually nothing-burgers and didn’t show anything that could lead to any changes, Smin or Gunjob could confirm this if you ask them. They were included solely out of transparency.

Excepct we have test flight data from Diehl.
Of which gajin already tried to model the missle after, in typical gajin fashion they ignored half of the given data.

SLM still in fact is underperforming by a good margin

I honestly don’t know how they’ll model the SLM with reduced weight, could be a buff in some ways also because reduced mass leads to less speed bleed when turning, and in order to still achieve the same ranges/data could result in a higher loft or reduced drag where it would retain energy better.

The first target was engaged at a distance of more than 30 km. The IRIS-T SL missile flight time was about one minute reaching an altitude above 12 km. Despite an evasive maneuver involving changing direction and altitude, a direct hit of the target was achieved proving the medium range capabilities of IRIS-T SL.

Gajin just ignored the whole it climbed 12km altititude part.
SLM hits targets 30km away in roughly 1 minute.
Good enough. Completly ignoring the energy it uses to get to those heights as well.
lets ignore the dodging maneuvers on top of it as well

Seems very possible. The missile goes straight up, does a giant arch, and hits the target. Possible for it to take 1min.

Huh? Obviously missile’s motor fails and then it just falls on top of whatever. NATO tech, remember?
