Iris-t slm

Gaijin said they balance vehicles based on their earnings and it’s safe to assume a vast majority of those earnings come from getting kills, at least in GRB.

To be fair, Click-Bait doesn’t really have that worse stats when compared to it’s TT counterpart, HC. AFAIK they also said that very similar/identical vehicles found in different places/nations would always have the same BR, regardless of stats. This AFAIK came after two identical vehicles found in two nations had two different BRs which is funny.

I don’t think highly of Gaijin’s actions but I think they found a way to learn how much better players from minor nations are when compared to major ones. When I think about it, this might be one of the reasons they add so many copy/paste vehicles to fill up the TTs, alongside cutting costs and time of course.

When you have two identical vehicles in two nations, the only difference there are the players that are controlling those vehicles. If you have enough vehicles like that you can now average it out and assume that, for example, minor nation players at higher tiers are ~15% better than ones found in major nations, so you decrease their vehicles’ stats by 15% before comparing.

Just a hunch but it does seem very plausible.

Gaijin, can we pls get the HX2? its armored
From Mail Contact:

The IRIS-T SLM air defense system will use the protected WLS interchangeable loader system in the variant for the Bundeswehr as a launch vehicle, based on vehicles in the 15t class of Rheinmetall, type HX2. The exact equipment and technical data are currently still in the final vote.

I think they can add it as add on since the shape need overhaul, even the side window was changed and seems like have thicker glass.

Quick question for the folks that do use the SLM. Is the missile good at intercepting munitions, such as

  • gravity bombs
  • mavericks
  • AASM
  • KH38

Because as a French main, I can’t say I’ve had many of my AASM intercepted. I do not know if it’s more of a skill issue (failing to lock the munitions before they are too close for intercept), or just because the missiles aren’t reliable in that regard

Idk about the player part, but missiles are not reliable in that regard. Sometiems they do work, but many times they dont lock on and miss, or they dont fuze on munitions.

I had a few games where i lock a KH-38 like 15 km away, i fire my missiles, and they do nothing, i fire a second wave, but it also does nothing, so the missiles are now too close, and im staring into my death, annoyed that this game works.

Glad you no longer consider that take wrong. :)

Such datalink features isn’t in-game to begin with.

Ah i thought if u notched an ARH the attacker could still give it DL guidance. Mb

This IRIS T missile so dumb against flare. easily being flared

This thing is soooo bad at shooting down enemy munitions…

insanely bad 8+ Missiles used… only hit 1 Enemy missile

And you can. Caveat, aircraft radar needs to have uninterrupted TWS/STT track of the target. Losing radar contact even briefly does shut down datalink channel and restoring it doesn’t resume datalink, thus missile is on its own, flying with inertial guidance following last known trajectory.

And I’d say its as much gameplay decision as its technological limitation. SARH missiles with datalink capability (R27R/ER, AIM-7P) WILL switch targets when you start tracking different target, which when transplanted to ARH/IR+DL missiles might result in losing capability of engaging multiple targets at the same time, acting more like Hellfires - all missiles flying to the same target.

no, it depends, sometimes it takes one missile some times it takes like 4 or even 5, it has the inconsistancy of a gravel path

It works well against slower munitions such as glide bombs and Mavericks at medium to long range, but it struggles greatly against faster targets, it’s a gamble most of the time. Your best bet is to intercept them at release from long range, your chance to intercept them below 8 km is very slim.

@Smin1080p_WT when Fast Scan for TRML-4D?
Its also an AESA :)

Me looking for AESA in that group (Only CS track might be AESA, as idk what it is).

big antenna that rotates on special truck
must be mech scan

Guess i made a mistake not to go for HQ17 :D

Tbf, in 360 mode azimuth is ineed scanned mechanically.

People are making a big deal of of a change, that is is bringing ESA trackers to plane standard. Tho it will make detection of new targets not instantaneous, so a slight nerf.

PESA can still do it. Also HQ17 is also AESA.

I know, I was just making a joke.
We have a early HQ, that is still PESA.
