Iris-t slm

Perhaps there is information about the time it takes for the missile to travel a specific distance?

not even worth to research iris-t spaa until they give it the proper range, it should absolutely melt planes at 20km meanwhile kh38mt slingers are still immune
I can imagine that if this was russian spaa it wouldnt be nerfed so much below its real performance

There is a source that claims ~1min TTK vs a >30km range, 12km high, actively defending target, but pretty sure in that vein, thats the best we got, and gaijin doesnt care.

If it’s the source I’m thinking of, we’re already aware of it, but it’s not the kind of source gaijin accepts: Iris-t slm - #31 by njits23

In any case, the target wasn’t at 12km altitude, that was just the missiles apogee according to this news report. The distance was 30km in about sixty seconds.

Unless you can find a Diehl spokesperson or press release giving these same numbers, we can’t use them.

By gaijins own standards, websites are considered secondary sources, so its not that the source isnt good enough, its that they dont like what it says and know we probably cant find anything more detailed.

As a sidenote, the IRIS-T was nerfed to 50G on a dubious reading of a single secondary source, so its pretty clear that gaijin is just picking and choosing what they want to believe regarding the IRIS-T, and what they want to believe is that it sucks.

does it mention what type of targets ? in wt only super sonic fighters matter , irl it could have been about subsonic cruise missiles , drones etc.

This is actually hilarious. They specifically pick out a source that has the worst stats for IRIS and based on that they model it in game. Good job, i guess NATO simply makes dogshit equipment…

Good news: The 1 minute to 30km distance with an apogee of 12km can be found on the German version of the Diehl website on the Internet Archive: Presse & Medien: Diehl Defence
Sadly, the actual press release can’t be opened, because it wasn’t archived. The preview, however, does contain the required information.

the closest to what i can get of real SLM performance is r27er with longer sustainer r27er Achieve 2.63 at 8 seconds of burn while SLM is 6 seconds more so should easily break Mach 3 match the Ukraine combat record

Maybe we can just give the website to gaijin since the range ,height and time are all included in it. It might work although the actual press can’t be opened.

It gets NCTR, and I think that’s all in the new update.

Thank you, I have added this source to the report: Community Bug Reporting System

Don’t use the graphs, use Dontkev’s video and the sensorview. The graph is not really accepted as proof.

Sensor view video

~75s @ ~23km distance

Actually, there is another change that affects the IRIS-T SLM (and all other multi-vehicle SAMs): the launcher deployment range has been greatly decreased.

also, thats 24km missile travel, no? The 30km is downrange figure, so excluding lofting
Not sure how much it lofts atm

The missile impacted at 23.6km away, the launcher was slightly closer (probably by a 100m). The main point is that it took 75s to reach 23-24 km. It did loft slightly tho but not sure by how much.

Thank you, I couldn’t find these initially. Added to the report now.
