Iris-t slm

Question, i for some reason cant fire with the radar vehicle, anyone else have that issue? I had some problems last dev too but a keybind changed that, i dont know which one

Seeing that it only has IOG there, they still haven’t implemented IR DL?

Are you in the new SPAA screen?

TOLD YOU MY CALCULATION WAS CORRECT, finaly its a good system

Yes, its really good and you can easely see targets

surprise

can you check 30km moving target?

This looks so nice, I’m glad they actually did manage to make it a 1:1 from the concept mockup.

Same, i see myself using it, its a really good overview and you dont actualy need to see anything in these multi vehicle launchers

Launcher is now in the hangar, cant decorate it yet tho

Interesting Loft

It is treated like a preview vehicle.

True, it is a shame that these vehicles share the same spawns as tanks though, they will suffer immensely in small maps and I don’t see them performing well in maps you can see from spawn to spawn, or maps so small you can spawn rush in 30 seconds and be shot at.

In real life these systems would be operating tens of kilometers away from any active war zone, I wish Gaijin would give it dedicated spawns like helicopters do, and I might actually consider playing them.

But the changes we got today seem quite promising in terms of raw missile performance.

Dumb question but where is the SLM’s IR seeker it has a pointy solid nose cone?

It has an aerodynamic cap that sheds off once it is in its terminal phase, the missile is kinda SARH for some of its flight time and then locks onto the target with IIR.

So if the Radar looses track the missile would fail due to not knowing where the target or when the nose cone should come off? unless IOG last known position is close enough

Yeah it uses DL+IOG+GNSS for guidance so if it loses track with the radar it should still fly in the general direction of the target, it has front aspect lock range of 9 km and 12 for rear aspect, I believe.

The missile has a discarding aerodynamic cone, that hides the seeker.

Before that, it flies on DL+IOG+GNSS. The missile will fly to the last known target position if the DL is lost. If it manages to aquire the target it will intercept it, if not, it will miss.

Hmm ok, yeah so it’ll be quite easy to dodge on a map with any sort of terrain

sort of like any other missile
