Sue for Mental Distress lmao
lmao
it is also reported that i was just walking at 1m/s
welp i guess that is my maximum now
Yes, being transparent about balancing issues would be ideal but the problem now is that they cant do it. They didnt care about banlance when they added the pantsir and if they recognice it now, people will rightfully compare the two cases, see the double standard, and gaijing staff will find themselves in a more complicated situation.
I’d rather have them be honest and just say that they are limiting these systems until SEAD is ready, instead of lying and gaslighting the community. I’m not denying these systems won’t be good, they are strong against anyone flying under 8 kilometers of these new missiles, but I feel like that shouldn’t have to be the case if the goal was to swing back the balance in favour of ground players, maybe 12 or 15 was more realistic but less than 10 km just feels underwhelming.
Would also be a nice to have: …maybe…potentially…if the planets align
Twinvis Passive radar:
Nope
It wont make a difference as theres no air launched iris-t in game
Gaijin does whatever they want with stats
So basically it gives warning to everyone?
First of all, anyone who’s worried about Gs in this case clearly doesn’t understand how missiles work in this game. In a plane, you can dodge SACLOS missiles like the VT1 or even the Pantsir’s, but good luck dodging an AIM-120 or even a Strela, which only pulls 20Gs. This is because fire-and-forget (FnF) missiles compensate for your movements on their own, while SACLOS missiles do not.
If you want to avoid FnF missiles, dodging isn’t really an option—unless they pull under 20Gs or you’re in very specific conditions. The way to defeat them is with energy or countermeasures. That’s why range and speed are so important, and I do agree with you: those two aspects are incredibly nerfed right now, and I’m against it.
Now, about the flare resistance — yes, I know it’s underperforming in that aspect too, and I’m also against it. If they’ve decided to nerf the range so much, then there’s no reason for it to be affected by flares. If the enemy plane has entered your no-escape zone, it should be done for.
With my previous message, I was just trying to explain what I think Gaijin’s thought process is—not my own opinions.
Finally, I don’t get any benefit from this. Playing AAA is one of my favorite things to do in this game, and right now, in top tier, it’s basically impossible unless you’re using the Pantsir. I was hoping this update would bring some fresh air to the CAS/counter-CAS environment, and I’m really disappointed with how things are going so far.
No? If we are talking about top tier jets its only Rafale Mirage 2000 EF2000 and su25 the most problematic ones (Su 30 and su 34) dont have maws, maybe this is one of the reasons for the nerf
This is kinda wierd how you gonna calculte maximum speed without data on engine output ?
So two years after Pantsir joined the game, Germany and other countries only received some Roland 3?
If you have one, please provide it, we haven’t been able to find a primary source for the speed.
Why is it so hard to find info on this thing? Has the slm not been exported or something? Its super easy to find info on Russian missiles like the r73 or the pantsir missile because there’s plenty of primary sources on the export versions of missiles
Maybe because 1 is on (Old system) while the other is the (State of the art)
old equipment vs state of the art in one of the best performing systems in a current on going conflict?
geez i wonder why
More like, one is an export product, the other one is highly confidential and actively being deployed in a war zone :propcat:
Curse Diehl for being so secretive 😭🥀
i mean SLM is export as well, thats a lesser reason all in all
Ya, but honestly Diehl never went out of their way to put any other info other than the effective range and altitude.
Speeds, G overload, and all the important things that matter to us in game were left out of their marketing… And we won’t see specs go public any time soon because of the war. And we were left with secondary sources that devs will simply throw in the trash, so we are out of luck.
Look at the launch of the SLM in this video, at around 58 seconds, that to me seems WAY faster than what we currently have in game. If someone could find the full clip maybe we could work out the distance of the target based on the sound of the explosion, so we could deduce the time of impact and the speed.
Update: on closer inspection, it appears to be an IRIS-T SLS launcher in the video, so we are out of luck again.
