There’s a thread on this forum centered around what Russia can/should get, and recently I saw someone there say “Leopard 2A8/K2”, so I’m lowkey expecting them to start demanding the Ukrainian SLMs as soon as it turns out they can’t just get 6 ground kills 10 seconds after spawning their Su-30/34, and if/when they do I’ll officially apply to become a Gaijin employee.

Yeah. So everyone saying “if you want to play planes, play the air modes” fails to register that we cant actually play certian mudmovers how they are meant to be played because of tanks in the ground modes. Which I find really ironic.

It looks like the UK and Italy are the ones that are going to be screwed the most this major update.
But still. Im not sure what im meant to do with SAL-Brimstone 1s on the Typhoon FGR4 vs an IRIS-T SLM. Especially as we dont exactly have a competitive MBT either and our top tier is built around just playing CAS
Even funnier - Czech SPYDERs. Because we already have precedent of Czech vehicles in Soviet tree, mainly M53/59. And now - L39, although it was used extensively in USSR, but somehow it still has Czech roundels.
Having to micro manage absolutely giant trucks on maps the size of a backyard with a lack of spawn protection or coverage, expecting to be able to ‘hide’ these towering trucks, ones that will surely have the traction and torque equal to a disability scooter to prevent them really getting anywhere either… good luck with that.
Every game you’ll just have someone take the 5 seconds to get to a place to shoot into the enemy spawn and take out the radar and destroy the entire system.
Map design offers no use for these things.
Radar coverage should be default at top tier, players shouldn’t have to bring their own radar when a nation would have radar coverage that detects things 400km out, even worse when you play Japan and you’re just standing their ‘squinting’ at the sky hoping to detect a dot in the sky as surely a modern nation like Japan has no radar coverage of any kind and just pick the guy with the best eye sight and a pair of binocs.

imma be honest I got so excited at first watching the trailer, I thought it was CAMM because MAN truck and radar. I literally cried when I saw it was SLM.
Istg if Italy and UK are still with this top tier goof mobiles by the time of the update, I don’t know what I’ll do. OTOMATIC has been a pain, it good, but only against drones in a straight line or really anything in a straight line.

There is still hope that there will be a mid range SAM for every nation, all of them have options (actually, dunno about Italy, but they surely can get something) after all.
If anything it looks more like China, Japan and Sweden are the ones getting screwed unless they are going to get two new SAMs.

Hey, that’s actually a pretty strong capability, most SAMs can’t deal with FnF spamming helis at all
This new system looks great on paper but I agree, the current maps size and design are a major issue. This system could work on Red Desert or Fulda, but with the terrible map rotation with maps like Normandy, Factory or Rhine in top-tier, it will be unplayable.
