IRIS-T SLM, a state of the art surface-to-air missile, featuring missiles that stall out and fall out of the sky at 10 km, watch out for them!
Bruh like the heccin manpads and m1 armor explanations werent guesses and estimations. Nice hipocrisy glubplub
Huge W
Let me just say they are all busted and in now way compete with what Pantsir can do sure Spyder is really good at close range right but the whole point was to defeat long range ATGMs such as the KH38MT
Gaijin, did you hit your head on a tree or something? What have you turned the IRIS-T into? Why the hell does the missile lose all its energy after just 10 km? The manufacturer states a range of 40 km—how is it that in your game the missile can’t even catch up to a plane in a straight line after 10? I get that 40 km might be unrealistic for the game, but it should at least reliably hit targets at 15–18–20 km!
it hit manoevering targets at ranges of 40km so Gaijin is just incompetent to model anything from NATO
Wikipedia and other 3rd Party websites are not accepted as historical Sources.
Over all, Wikipedia isn’t accepted as a source.
This is about the air launched version, not the SLM.
Range is already reported and accepted.
The first link doesn’t mention range, the second and third aren’t accepted as sources.
Link does not mention warhead or explosive weight.
First link doesn’t mention the seeker.
Second link is for the air launched version, can still be used for the IIR seeker but not the datalink stuff.
Third link isn’t an accepted source.
Wikipedia isn’t a source.
Neither link is accepted as sources.

If you really want to help here then please look for actual sources and not privately driven third party websites.
When operator Bundeswehr writes about its own system on its own public website it better should be accepted. Same for Diehl Defence, the producer.
I tried looking through their sites, as far as i could see they don’t mention much in terms of stats/numbers other than the range.
And the height. Max speed. So you have the raw specs and just make it work ingame. What else are you looking for? Its an active, new system … you won’t find the manual or more detailed specs. Especially if the system is used in an active war. Asking for more sources is not really realistic. You either go with third party infos and infos from miltec communities or you can’t introduce these systems ingame.
Max range and max height are already reported and accepted.
Max speed is the thing we’ve had the largest issues finding sources for. if you have a page on either of those to websites that mention top speed then please link it. We’ve been searching for days x)
Here is everything we have so far:
I should clarify, by “we” i mean the other users in that thread, not Gaijin. I’m not involved in the decisions nor development for the game :P Game Masters only handle in-game chat and name bans.
And still have :(
Pls Dev who sees the Time to target and range report, count 1+1 together…
Hmm, did somebody try to ask how the respective military defines “effective range”, like the swiss military from their SLM test? Would be curious if they have a strict or clear definition of that which could be published like “at least Mach 1 to have enough energy to engage a manouvering subsonic target at a given height”.
The moment we have this definition the rest will be easy as there are enough sources which state “effective range”.
Dunno. Everyone states its mach 3 capable. Even ordinary German TV. Like this WELT report, one of Gers most important News network. You can see this at breakfest @ TV. But Gajin knows better I guess.
At least you’re not getting stuck with 10km bugged missiles like the SPYDER :/
I don’t think that is considered an accepted source either sadly. Unless it can be proven that the graphic was provided by Diehl .
WELT is not a trust worthy source.
Definitly not since Axel Springer bought WeltN24 in 2015 and it became “Bild 2.0” xD
Its just an example that just everyone talks about mach 3 for Iris T SLM. Even ordinary morning TV. There must be hundrets of third party homepages. Brochures and Interviews claiming this.
What secret document claims that SLM reaches 40km effective combat range with just the anemic speed WT allows it to have? Where is this claim from?
