Clearly a buff, like the guy over there said, Lmao

The buff in question:

Rafale fires 1 missile, defeats the most deadly SAM in the world.

Not a bug

But on a serious note, IRIS-T SLM is very unfinished. Does aim9x, rb98 also face the same problem?

nope, all others have the 10km ir lock range

I watched this a couple times. The seeker didn’t ever establish a lock.
I think it locked onto the missile, DL’d to that target via IOG and by then the Raf was out of view.

The plane was still being painted by the radar, so it should not have lost/switched DL targets, yet it did. And did not switch to IR even tho it was well within range, since I launched at the Rafale at around 7 km.

I get a feeling that AESA radar combined with 5th gen infrared seeker and Data link shouldn’t be possible to evade…

It was being painted but he notched and the radar didn’t see him.

He’s missing that green glowing oval around him.

You’d think, but radar at the deck in WT is all sorts of wacky.

I don’t think the rafale was at the notch angle yet, but then another questions is why didn’t the seeker activate? It was well within the seeker range

“The AASM consists of a nose-mounted guidance section and a tail-mounted range extension kit (featuring winglets for maneuverability and a rocket booster)”

My guess is it was trying to lock onto the faint front aspect AASM booster thermal sig because DL said look there
My AIM9x’s lock onto LMURs ALL THE TIME so this isn’t the first time I’ve seen something stupid like this

4km from the target, IR didn’t lock on, and magically the missile spam that guy did deflected my missile ???

It would have been better to delete Iris-t from the game than to do this stupid nerf.

“now”

IRS-T at 10k lock on was pretty oppressive.
I’d get a single RWR beep and the missiles would already be on the way.

Super not fun when I’m flying something at 11.7 or 12.0 like a F14/F18

??? How about buk? it faster and more deadly, it even keep your RWR ringing until the missile hit you in short time since the missile flying at 1500 m/s, which is much faster than IRIS-T Gayjn version (975 m/s). If you have 10s to run from IRIS-T then you only have 7s to use your brain when BUK coming.

what are you yapping about?

Buk is easy compared to it you have constant RWR indications, big streaks into the sky.
It ghosts at low altitudes so you just do a up down wiggle at the deck and it kisses the ground.
