No. Why would they name it IRIS-T (!) then? You should better look into this.
I’m a wehraboo. We don’t have jets with F&F missiles like the Rus do. So I sadly can’t play GRB like this. Spacebaring tanks with IR target pods and KH-38 is fotm. I wish I could.
true, but keep in mind if they ever fix this, we could have a potent platform, and also, the slm has a much higher max altitude than the iris-slr, making it more of a problem for aircraft much higher up
true but even then, it will still be the best system by far, being able to engage multiple targets at once, not requiring guidance, and its kill accuracy will be deadly, as the iris missiles are known to be very accurate
At the moment, I can’t see how they can correct the vibrations of the TVC missiles, since the cause of the vibrations is server stability and not the missile’s flight model itself (that’s why in test drives or on the dev server the missiles don’t vibrate). They would need to start everything over from scratch to implement it differently (which I hope for).
I don’t see it ingame. You need 3 trucks to operate this thing, aren’t you? How could that be solved? How can you hide such a high up truck on these small GRB maps? We have to see, but I can’t imagine it to be ingame.
Depends on how it’s modeled, even if we ignore the tvc issues. It could be very good, or good but not all that flash. I hope it is good, it would be nice to fly against something threatening. But I’ve doubts about how Gaijin handles these things.
true, but even while fixed, an insane range, fire and forget, and just how hard the iris missiles are to evade makes this system super deadly, which is good for the cas problem, but bad for balance.
and then a “pansir situation” remerges, where the iris-t is farr better than the other SPAA systems, because keep in mind, SPAA compete for kills too
