Here there are many images of a new project the Soleiman 402. It is a modified M-60. It has more protection, new communications equipment and a new fire prevention system.

As reported by the Western press, which studied the details of the project, among the changes visible to the naked eye one can notice the placement of additional armor on the hull and turret, presumably also covered by dynamic protection units.

On the sides and rear of the turret is a metal body kit mounted on a faceted structure, which seems to provide little protection given its thinness. Armor was added to the front of the hull, various equipment was installed on the turret: smoke grenade launchers, electronic devices, a weather sensor, a remote-controlled M-2 machine gun cal. 12.7 mm

The original gun is now covered with a massive casing, probably to reduce the thermal signature, although this may only be for aesthetic purposes.
Visible in the front of the turret is an electro-optical countermeasures system similar to the Russian-developed Shtora-1 system used in the T-72 and T-90.

In front of the tower, two optocoupler units are installed on both sides, possibly a perimeter vision system with laser warning receivers. On the body in the mechanical transmission area there is an electronic device for driving at night or in conditions of poor visibility.

There is no information on any improvements in the propulsion system. The smallest changes are found in the rear part of the body.

Yes, you are right but Chonma was captured by the Iranians and for this reason it deserves a place in our TT. If there was a project for the Iraqi TT it could be the non-premium Chonma
