Another example of design over information.

What is the benefit of this work?
All texts are gone
plane engine datas gone
Armament sites (showed all planes with same cannon) gone
plane speed limits incomplete and c/p went wrong e.g.:

Bf 109 K-4 360kph should be gear limit, 260kph should be landing flaps limit, and mach limit should be .82

Hey! A little tip for you:
The old wiki is still up so that you can save all the information you have created:
(War Thunder Wiki)

You can then use the new editor (guide here):
(Become a War Thunder Wiki author! | War Thunder Wiki)

And you might actually get rewarded with the new system:

Hope this helps :)

The “Rating by players” tab should have different options for different game modes.

It should also have different entries based on game mode.

I have no option to rate the “Visibility” for instance of the A6M3 I’m flying right now.

Some planes that do amazing for aerial combat in ARB can be a struggle (for the average pilot not used to flying in it) in sim due to visibility. The a6m3 isn’t that bad, but bf109s are notoriously bad rear visibility.

I’d also add a “Handling” entry. Some planes perform amazingly but are a handful to fly and these two are vital information for deciding what nation to grind out when you get started flying.

Even for ARB/GRB it’s likely people rate differently.

AAB/ARB have entirely different performance.

I think it would be appreciated if these Wiki articles were looked over by either content creators or vetted moderators because some of the stuff in the last wiki was complete nonsense, outdated, contradicting, and/or generally unhelpful. Like someone threw together an article after playing a vehicle 3 times total. Someone(s) who are dedicated to making sure information is accurate, up to date, and nonbiased would be extremely helpful.

If i have understood things correctly:

Since the new system allows for only one creator to change their own articles its going to become self regulating. users that provide accurate well written articles will have many followers and upvotes while a user with many factual mistakes will not have any upvotes and thus wont be seen nearly as much.

You are now also able to leave comments on articles explaining what you think is wrong (instead of being freely able to change it directly) so that the author can double check both your and their info before its changed (or not).

Why can’t a change as good as this be applied to player profiles?

I must’ve missed that part. That does sound much better. Hopefully the community steps up.

Well i agree, but the pro and con section was usually pretty “unrealistic or trivial” or outdated.

But i guess gaijin will controll the vehicle ratings even in the new systen, they would never allow it to be publicly shown that a vehicle is absolute crap or absolute OP.

That was my question in my head aswell… can i follow people i trust or am i stuck with random text…

i mean its simple, i am a player with high skill level, i want to know how others on my level see that vehicle, i dont want to see what a average person sees in that vehicle.
Like i follow certain game devs cause i like what they do, but i dont follow any tripple A studio (other than gta6) cause i dont like most AAA games.

If thats true, amazing, if we find someone wo really goes into that.

Love that we finally can compare vehicles… but cmon… more then very very basic stats would be helpfull… in this current form is pretty… useless. Change it and i will love it.

Total engine thrust and Power/Weight would be nice information for the comparison to include

Any way to show the rating of specific authors? I usually dont trust the “average” rating for very good reasons.

also any way of only seeing the topics created by authors i follow? i dont want to see the rest.

what would be better is for people to write a written review with a “Overall Rating” stat to sort by, and the ability to “Find a review helpful” and be able to sort by new and most helpful, would provide more useful than the bars, even though these bars are still very useful

checking the rules right now…
it appears we will have highly moderated and not very informative author texts…

i was hoping for smt more personal… and not historically… cause i want to know about the vehicles performence ingame… not some random real life facts…

but we will see… will creaty my own text for a few vehicles and will see what goes through in term of personal opinion and preferences.

according to the wiki rules, we will not see reviews… just random facts… but lets test it.

but yes. i want that too.

I don’t expect anything from this ratings.

The majority of players aren’t able to rate any vehicle objectively.
Think about BR changes, loadout changes, ammo changes.

Yes, I could migrate all of the texts, and I could spend endless time posting it anew, but it would no longer be part of the main article on the vehicle, be easily ignored, and it still doesn’t change the fact that you can’t edit articles if you notice that they contain errors or omissions which in all honesty is one of the base functionalities of any wiki, because the new wiki only allows the original author to make any changes to their article.

This is no longer a wiki, this is a ‘social media that just purports to be a wiki’, and completely misses the point of what a wiki is supposed to be.

And on top of that, it is something that came without any announcement or warning, just something that dropped and basically became an irreversible fact to all authors, users and editors. The second in a matter of days, after the changes to the game user profiles that not only changed the interface, but also removed complete chunks of information.

Can you please tell the people in charge that a Wiki is supposed to be a place where information is shared, corrected if it is wrong, or added to when it is incomplete by other users, and not a series of disassociated social media posts that can only be altered by one person, and ‘upvoted’ or ‘downvoted’ according to ‘popularity’?
