That is very true, but I will say I do not enjoy those fine jets because I am tired of being one of the last two or three on my team, fighting 11 enemy planes with aim120s, because the rest of my mates got slaughtered within 2 minutes…Because WT sells high tier planes for money, where it used to be the highest tier pliots worked there way to being good with jets and the added things you have to know to notch missiles. Now in the next update some guy is going to buy a rank 13.3 jet and I have to lose and die yet once again because half my team is a Level 5 pilot…do you see the gist of what Im saying?
OK, well enjoy yourself tonight if you are playing, I am about to enter air battle, and as well I will probably fly 15 or 20 different kind of jets, a Zero, a 109, including my BR 13s on up, I have gained a different perspective from this chat and will have a sort of satisfaction as I go down in flames knowing I did my homework when the fox 3s came out, while 3/4 of the team died in the first two minutes. I mean I don’t know what to tell you man, it’s there, it exists in game. Unfortunately they wont make it a real mode like you want unless large portions of the player-base want it or if they can find a way to monetize it. I’m really not trolling, I’m just seeing the realistic picture instead of a wish
I dont think gaijin’s premium strategy has changed much. But i see two very large changes that would lead to an increase in the overall number of inexperienced players in top tiers.
1: The player base has greatly increased.
This quick growth leads to a large influx of new players.
Many are used to the standard practice of other games were the op weapons are behind paywalls. They take this logic to war thunder and assume that buying the most expensive pack will allow for pay2win.
2: War thunder has added modern vehicles.
Now that they have started added stuff like F16s and Mig29s, it will attract many people who love these jets. A lot of people only care about modern tech and will pay to try to skip the “boring” ww2 props.
Same thing is happening with the top tier US ground. They added the abrams which is a hugely popular tank. No surprise that hordes are buying the packs.

I get what you mean now. But will “guns only” really fix the issue? These “level 5” players often crash on takeoff, do you think they can dogfight? I agree that Gaijin shouldn’t sell top tier in any shape or form just so we can avoid this issue, but the sad truth is it was possible since I began playing I believe.
Don’t rely on your teammates. Despise how it seems this isn’t a team game, and never was. Everyone is in a match for their own reason, which might not be to win necessarily.
Bring a friend or two so you have someone to rely on I guess.

You know what PREX2000, now I do appreciate that last statement where you gave a larger response. I actually thought about that and decided that youre right, it is what it is. Enjoyed myself a little more and flew my BR13s some. Im certainly no DEFYN, but 80% of the time I will be one of the last three standing, and I guess I just have to relish that, I did my homework when the fox 3s came out. Last night lost 17 battles in a row, team smashed in one or two minutes, but I thought to myself, oh well at least youre not bad. Warthunder is not going to change, and it is one of my hobbies, its just not what it used to be, but as someone said, where can you get the gameplay, physics and graphics on an avg laptop in any other game? I will certainly create some custom battles in the future. Its not that I hate the missiles, I dislike the fact that most of these players fly into them like lemmings walking off the mountainside and my card is getting worse, But hell I have just over 12,000 airkills, and so it is what it is. Thank you for your answer, I was wondering what the community was thinking, and it indeed used to be more of a community. Interesting because I agree “TOP TIER” is pure trash, nobody in my squadron will play above 11.
However if you wanna see PURE toxic and hate filled players go to 4.0 and find all the 4.3 BF109s that sit and spawn camp or the 4.7 ITP that takes only 1 plane to lower their BR and spawn camp new players.
If only the DEVS would ban these people then teamwork and honor could possible be in this TEAM based game…

Yeah it’s unfortunate, I also want said mode, because I’d love to use my F-16 to it’s abilities in a rate fight, but that isn’t consistently possible atm
They wouldn’t ban players for using game mechanics to progress.
Why would they punish someone for downtiering themselves in arcade when it is a feature that Gaijin added? Spawncamping also goes unpunished because it is normal and it happens.
I have good BR 12.7 planes without fox 3s, and I continually go into battle against 5 or 6 planes that do, this is unrealistic and is making me want to change games. How do you succeed against those types of planes when you are in a plane that is 10 years behind your competition? How do you go against aim120s when you only have aim9ls?, ie…F16A, where is the matchmaking here?
How do I go into battle in a Mig29 with 2 r27ers, against 10 planes that have aim120s?, why is the matchmaking so messed up around that BR? How do you succeed against planes that have fox 3s when you are slaved to the radar, and have four r60s? It doesnt make sense to me, its all about the money now

- Learn to play differently or stop crying but nothing about missile combat is going to change and get easier. If you want easier go play ace combat.

Having a spawn cost under 12k is the exception for rank V and VI aircraft. That’s also not including the numerous rank IV props that are more than 10k to spawn.
guns only top tier ends at the f86 vs mig15 and even then there are a few missiles
