Because the USSR don’t need Ukrainian vehicles. They have a lot more vehicles to be added and variants that are better than the Ukrainian vehicles. They also have the ability to get Post-Soviet country’s modifications. Also I never said this wasn’t a political issue. Of course politics has to be considered, but there is nothing to be considered when it comes to Thailand and Japan. I’d completely understand if it was a Chinese vehicle in the Japanese tree, but the Thai VT-4 is Thai first, Chinese second. There is a big difference between two countries who’ve been at war for over a decade and two long term allies.
…because Thailand is an exclusive subtree of Japan and therefore all Thai vehicles should go there?
One thing that I love is you consider the VT-4 used by Thailand to be “Chinese” but the T-84 (based off of the T-80) as “Ukrainian”. If you followed your logic, the T-84 would be Russian or Soviet. But you aren’t saying that.
Hi all, Just a reminder this is a topic on the Thai subtree and chinese vehicles / anything else mentioned in the main post.
This is not the place to discuss certain symbols / past wars or other tech trees unrelated to the post. Keep the comments civil and on topic, If you have an issue with a deleted post contact us via PM.
guys I dont really seen the point for fighting for political reasons. Its just a game calm down.
Like I said previously, this incident is caused by the long-term dissatisfaction with the lack of response to the report on Chinese vehicles. The VT4 joining Thailand was just a trigger, not the whole bomb.
no one wants copy and paste premium leo2A4 in Chinese TT, and Chinese player would not wish to see the vehicle they grind hours just for unique playing experience suddenly become less unique by copy and paste it to other TT. Its just a smoke from gaijin to divide player base, just dont fight against each others.
TLDR: focus on gaijin not other players, we have the same interest
So you’ve also realized why the Oplot-T wasn’t given to the USSR? Gaijin could easily replicate a version for the USSR tech tree. The current situation with the Thai VT-4 follows the same logic—it’s just that you refuse to see the connection between these two cases.
You’re also shifting the concept. Using the reasoning that ‘this is just a game, not reality,’ it would be entirely justified for the USSR to receive the Oplot-T—just hoist the USSR flag and it’s done.
The VT4 incident itself stems from the timing of its introduction into the game. Without mentioning the War of Resistance Against Japan during World War II, it’s impossible to explain why Chinese players opposed the inclusion of the VT4 as a Japanese unit at this particular moment.
What is this misconception? The VT-4 was never planned to come in September. It was leaked, but so was Singapore to China in 2024. So was the EFV-P1 in 2024.
This is about all of you—the players who dismiss the political implications of assigning Thailand’s VT-4 to Japan as a trivial issue, and who actively justify its inclusion in the Japanese tech tree.
…yes? They’re great trading partners, complete military exercises together, both are ASEAN, they’ve had diplomatic relations for 140 years, etc. etc.
They regard their relationship as a longstanding “deep friendship”.
