Information Regarding the Thai Subtree and Chinese Vehicles

Allright now that few days have passed and I had time to go through the reactions and had time to think it over, I must conclude that this whole situation is even bigger circus than I initially thought.

  • most of the chinese community believes bug reporting system to be broken
  • non-chinese community believes bug reporting system to be broken
  • part of the chinese community is blocking addition of tank that isnt chinese to a subtree that isnt japan, on the grounds that chinese vehicle cant be added to japan. They do this because they think the bug reporting system is broken
  • due to this overwhelming consensus between everyone that bug reporting system is broken, a massive flame war is being waged where all involved parties want to achieve a singular goal - to fix the bug reporting system

Am I missing something?

China’s affairs were completely put aside, and an unrealized Singapore science and technology tree was discussed. You also pointed out that China players are a special group of people, which means that China players are just fooling around. It seems that the final result of China players is to uninstall the game.

There’s the Premium Vijaynata too btw for india

it be like giving america a mig 15 or 21 or J7 cause they had them ? thats why
like putting a bradlys in the russian tree cause they captured them in ukraine or T80s in american tree

its just wrong also its not like they need a VT4 which is just a T72 upgrade when you have the TKX TYPE90 etc at same br which are just as strong if not completely better less copy paste the better

Peeps also always just ignore the entire reason the Vickers mk1 MBT existed in its form and went on to make good foreign sales was that it was a joint effort with the Indians to produce a design they could make domestically and to their specifications.

Everyone is sick and tired of the lies and gaslighting. The more this lie is repeated, the less sympathy and support the rest of the community is going to give. Stop it. You are making yourself look foolish. This behavior is embarrassing and shameful.

These posts are also not helpful at all. It is only antagonistic. Divisive political comments such as these only make the situation worse. It becomes impossible to have a logical and reasonable discussion when the conversation is reduced to nothing more than insults and inflammatory remarks. These types of posts need to stop. You are also making yourself look foolish. This behavior is embarrassing and shameful.

It is possible for all of us to work together and have a constructive debate, but only if it is done without insults or claims of unfair treatment. However, if people continue to use offensive and/or defensive arguments, nothing will be accomplished.

Not really. Thailand operate the VT-4, VN-1C and other Chinese equipment. They have always been a bridge between Eastern and Western Equipment, so why take that away? Nevermind the fact the MiG-15/21 and J7 are all insignificant in American history and were never put into service. The Thai use the VT-4 as their main MBT alongside the T-84.

The VT-4 would be a lower BR, I imagine 11.3 or 11.7. And it offers a different playstyle than the Type 90/TKX, not being a total glass cannon and having competent armour.

If we assume the Chinese VT-4 and Thai VT-4 are identical (I’m pretty sure there’s some difference, but I can’t recall it), then it’d offer better armour than the Type 90.

It’s also disingenuous to say that it shouldn’t come because the Type 90 is better. I guess Germany shouldn’t’ve gotten the Leopard 2A5, 2A6 and 2A7 because they’d all be at the same BR. I guess the USSR shouldn’t’ve gotten T-80BVM, T-72B3A and T-90M because they’re all 12.0 aswell.

Considering the fact that the original post was pretty much a non-answer to a previous issue, I feel safe in assuming the next community update will either be the same or be a disregarding of said feedback. Gaijin has had a few days now and its either “We are going through with our plans to add Singapore to the Chinese tech tree despite the feedback and push back” or “We have heard said feedback and will not be adding Singapore to the Chinese tech tree and will look to add then elsewhere if possible.” It is that simple, really.

The issue is the…well the lie, or contradiction. “We have never let one group of people impact a game decision” and the Chinese player base quite literally got the VT4 pulled from the Japanese tech tree. That seems like a game decision if anything. The messaging here sort of missed the mark.

Those Canadian numbers are slightly outdated.

It’s got with this update, Canada got 4 vehicles, two new, two fixes. The new was the Ram I making that Canadian TT 3 (Ram I, Skink, ADATS) & CF-188. The fixes was Prendergast’s Spitfire & MTB-460.

Making the Canadian vehicles in the UK 11, compared to 3(4 if you count the premium Skink(I have my own not great thought on that one) US and 2 in Germany.

Britain has gotten many domestic ground vehicles since the introduction of sub trees.

Sky Sabre [2 vehicles], Rapier, Harry Hopkins, Scimitar, Stormer AD, Fox, Churchill AVRE Petard, Challenger 3 TD, Challenger 2 OES, Vickers Mk11, TOG II, Challenger 2E, Churchill NA75, Centurion Mk2, Churchill Crocadile, Challenger DS, Black Night, Alecto I, Challenger 2 TES, Vickers Mk3.

“Khalid”, “Desert Warrior”.

More Firefly, more Avenger, more Crusader AA.

21 + 2 + 3 vehicles.

Vs 4 from India, 2 of which are unique.
And 19 from South America, all are unique. And yes, I’m including unobtainable vehicles in this count.

So 23 vs 25.

British additions are at least slightly out-pacing sub-tree additions, and that’s not counting the additions during South African vehicle development for War Thunder, so there’s even more British domestic additions added while South African vehicles were being made for War Thunder.

if we wanna get into it

Canada
HMCS Haida
HMCS Terra Nova
HMCS Brantford
MTB-460

Australia
HMAS Arrow
HMAS Fremantle
HMAS Armada
HMAS Tobruk
HMAS Nepal

New Zeeland
HMNZS Leader

with all of these being tech tree baring the Haida

you realise out of those 25 vics only 3 of them are light tanks which was his main complaint only 2 of them are from vickers which was his second complaint

the othering is that it makes no sense for us to have at the very least india they are closer to russia and mostly use russian equipment not to mention the uk hasn’t really had a good relation with india

So Britain has received 14 tech tree ground vehicles under the British flag in the last 5 years.

Compare that to the US, Germany, or the Soviets and you will see the consequences of sub trees to domestic additions.

Prototypes take longer to develop for games than production vehicles, so they’re inherently going to be less populace.

@Sebbo_the_Plebbo
UK got many anti-tank tanks while USSR took 15 months go get a new one after T-90M.
Sub-trees are not and have never been an issue for vehicle development.
Information availability is the only issue.

More vehicles will come, and at the end of the day domestic options will out-pace sub-tree options by over 3:1 within 3 more years.

Also citing USA and USSR when they’re the largest producers of military equipment on the planet is a false equivalence.

literally the FV-101 used by at least 3 tree in game and on the same hull as the Scimitar

Gaijin first priority is filling BRs.
They pick a BR, then they find a vehicle for that BR.
Their second priority is picking favorite tanks among themselves and the suggestions.
Their third priority is picking production over prototype whenever possible for quicker development.

There are probably more priorities before the final last one…
Their last priority is copy-paste when they couldn’t come to a decision fast enough.

This is purely from observing vehicle additions from 2018 to present, and a bit from announcements made.

Brother what are you yapping about

There is 0 issue with information availability with British tanks. There are over 200 suggestions for British ground forces additions alone on these forums, most of which are very well sourced with essentially everything the Gaijin would need to add them.

Like you yourself have pointed out, it’s been essentially 1:1 for the past 5 years, and we’re seeing a consistent amount of foreign additions every update. No sign of this ratio changing across recent updates or in the future.

Completely irrelevant with regards to a video game where each nation supposedly receives the same-ish amount of vehicles on an update-by-update or year-by-yesr basis. Like I already made very clear, Britain has an absolute abundance of domestic vehicles left to add, and if you compared the domestic additions to Britain and the domestic ground tech tree additions to US, Germany, and USSR over the last 5 years it would become abundantly clear how much getting two sub trees torpedoes domestic content. But you aren’t going to do that, are you, because it would end up proving yourself completely wrong.

USA has even more content left to add than UK.
“Clearly the lack of subtrees torpedoes domestic additions. USA is suffering because it has 3x more vehicles left to add than UK.” - Devil’s Advocate argument using the rationale of your post [note I did not say “logic”, that word is misused most of the time].
Of course mentioning USA, USSR, and Germany proves your posts wrong.
If USA, and USSR got sub-trees, their content addition would not change.

In-fact, I’ll talk about 2020 Britain additions. 25 ground vehicles were added from 2021 to 2025. About 7 per year.
In 2020, Britain got ADATS [Canada], VFM-5, Matilda Hedgehog, Stuart I & III, Challenger 2F, and Rooikat 105. 7 vehicles, and 2 weren’t domestic.
So since Gaijin added the South African sub-tree, domestic ground vehicles added to Britain has increased from 5 per year to 7 per year.
“The addition of sub-trees boosts domestic additions.” - A hypothetical argument I do not believe.

Development takes time, and last update added 55 vehicles. The average per update is 42.
In time more British vehicles come, and in 3 years time there will be 50 - 100+ more domestic British vehicles in the game.

And no, the ratio has not been 1:1.
Half of Britain’s sub-tree tanks came in 1 update in 2021, literally half.
So in reality new additions SINCE the sub-tree addition are more than 2:1 just in ground, and over 3:1 in air, sea, helicopters, and ground.

no I am very sure Poland can create a small tech tree like Israel.
