Infantry in War Thunder: what are your expectations?

hohoho, yes they are, all man in warthunder are build to be in-distructable, if 406 aphe hit a boat, all crew are just sleeping under the sea. certainly not any detechment of body part, but knock out is still applies.

really need to see enlisted detailed building being brought to WT(as well as it’s destruction effect), as the whole point of inf is being able to capture a building, if building cannot be entered, it will be so much less fun to just playing ATs or snipering on large map (which is less effective than armored vic)

also, do we get a chance to use decorational wepons that hanging on vic as primary or ATs in game?

Hell yeah

I’d like to see more niche weapons and customization options. It would also be great if transport helicopters, such as the UH-1, played a larger role.

I think Enlisted was a test game where they looked how can we bring Infanterie and Tanks in one game

As stated this will be a seperate game mode. That being said. I really hope they dont make it boring by forcing the player to play a certain way. The are talking about “Squads”. I really hope they will make Squads work how they did In Battlefield 4, filled with real players. Same with Vehicle spawn. What they didnt show in the Trailer showcasing the Infantry was any POV of a Tank or a Heli so I really hope they let us use Vehicles in this Infantry mode and not just let it be NPC´s. As how to balance this so not everybody just spawns Tanks and nobody goes Infantry they could treat Vehicle spawns like Battlefield 4. This is what I am hoping.

I think they make that like enlisted Infanterie

inf–> spawn point–> tank–> spawn point–> air/support arti/extra good tank/inf with good stuff(AT/grenade launcher)

And this is a game. It’s suppose to be fun.

also for vic balencing, i’d expect they run it like realistic mode, which make both tank and inf do not have 3rd person view. also make map or wepon for less ideal long range snipering works on tank. but most ideally, show where tanks is like AB, but have tank run on RB or SB(which is what Enlisted did )
I personally donot like just banning long range fight in this inf mode, but limit the effectiveness of this mode of play by adding deployable fixed wepon like missle launcher (9m133 and TOW)

or balence the effectiveness of tank by charging HE for respawn point(like the way of current CAS wepons), which limit the capability of long range spamming of HEs

idealy, a much larger map is needed, like broken arrow or squad game, try not to force all tanks play in a small town. it sonds like lots of work, but all these will brought much better experience if we could have fob or logi run by robots, but able to arrange them in a PvEvPvE like manner. supplies affect what can be brought to front line, and vics can support inf either directly with firepower or indirectly with logi line keep and destroy. player get to decide where or how logi runs in map, and try to keep these logi to the front line for FOB/ suppli (inf spawn point to purchase explosives including ATGM, mortar rounds, gun launched grenades)

Think if anything, base Infantry will be 0SP always, maybe better weapons being up to 50-100sp at most.

At least this way players will have no reason to quit the match early from running out of sp.

i’m thinking of making AT tendom and launched grenades more expensive, also some ideas of making supply system and larger map in my suggestion

its obviously Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for the community

Enlisted is published by Gaijin, not developed.
So what exactly would they be testing there?

A welcome one! This is cool!

I am pretty optimistic about infantry. If Gaijin adds it the right way, it will be a lot of fun to play. Only thing I am concerned about is the fact that the CBT says only PS5. Will this gamemode not be available for PS4? Because the rest of the game is currently running just fine. It would be sad to miss out on this gamemode…

In response to recent events, my position hasn’t changed, but become stricter. In addition to the necessity of playable infantry being entirely separate from Ground AB/RB/SB, I also hope that no considerable developer effort is diverted to this infantry project. That is, War Thunder content excluding anything infantry-related continues to consistently release and update at the same pace. If this won’t hold, then it’s goodbye to the game I knew and loved.
