I’m really hoping they expand the maps if they add infantry and give the option to APC and IFV type vehicles the option to ferry them around and drop them off to building or placed trenches/dugouts and maybe add engineering vehicles that are able to build/dig trenches/dugouts/bunkers/etc
Maybe even be able to tow and place AT and AA guns
This would add utility to shrapnel shells, canister shells, HE shells, machine guns smaller than .50 cal etc.
There could also be researchable different types of squads that have equipment adjusted for battle ratings like general purpose infantry versus anti-tank infantry versus special forces infantry that have different utilities. And they could even add crew skill points to improve things like vitality accuracy etc

Yeeeah, buuuut… Snail have a reputation of teasing/testing features via April Fools event (old naval event with sail ships or modern armour event for instance)

That’s not why we think it’s coming though. We think it’s coming because Olivia leaked that it will be a new game mode, and her track record with leaks is pristine, so…
Submarines for one are definitely coming. I mean, the literal creative director of the game said in a live stream that there would be news about submarines soon…

It time to change that… War thunder core used to be only about aeroplanes. Ground and naval were just added later on.

Why is it the time to change that? Nobody asked for an infantry mode except for an exceptionally small minority. The infantry mode will just die Also aeroplanes can be considered vehicles too. Hence the core of war thunder is still about vehicle combat.

Gaijin is wasting money, time and focus on a mode that nobody asked for and that will die very quickly. If I wanted intantry, there are so many better games out there that doesn’t require me to grind 3 months to get to modern guns. Why would I play war thunder? The only unique thing about war thunder is semi-historically accurate vehicle combat.
