Indian Mig29 to UK tree and Rafale

Is BOL that bad? Never noticed a difference.

The harriers are fun and would be great if they had a little more power. Its dissapointing. They are slow top end so wouldnt really hurt/ be OP. Great off the line but then dead.

The tornado IRL can out- turn a phantom and stays wirh a f14 for 2 turns. Neither true ingame. The F3 slaps but 1 vs 1 vs any other jet at BR and you are pretty much dead.

Phantoms are the worst but keep 12.0

Hunter is great. But 9.7 and no flares just bacause it gets 4 x 1km wobble missiles. Keep the missiles, it needs flares

The jaguar being so bad hurts the tree the most IMO. No F5/ MiG21 type fighter throughout. Why is this air frame/ performance so bad? It looks like it shouldnt turn into a brick after 1 turn. Its like the J35 delta wing for no apparent reason.
10.7… is just lols. Like most of the GB jets under perform but over tiered.

Very frustating tree, i deffinitly wouldnt recomend learning the game with it like i did

Yes

They are underperforming significantly. @MatrixRupture has a load of Reports for their FM in and others have reports for various other aspects too.

Yeah, that’s Britain tax

You shouldn’t be turn fighting in them. They have one of the best radars in the game. The main aim is to slap with the Skyflash in BnZ runs.

Destroys in SB at the moment

Yeah SRAAMs are a mess. Multiple major bugs reports have been sat pending for 3 years now.

But sub-9.7 is a compressed mess

It was originally built to be a supersonic trainer and then bodged into the role of a ground attacker. (The only place the Comms panel would fit was upside down over the pilots shoulder)

So it was never great, but I rather enjoy them as a base bomber in ASB. Actually kinda looking forward to getting the Jaguar GR3A

But the Gr1A should probably be 10.3

Its not, its great

Bug reports for fixing BOL and restoring it to at least what it was before the nerf.

Though it should be large calibre, short burn “flares” and standard Calibre chaff. We’ve never had full strength BOL in game.

To make it even stronger, but its misleading to say it isn’t already great

In all BOL carriers, I use periodic CM release when dropping BOL to drop enough flares or chaff to do anything.

My average in the Typhoon for example is about 20 chaff per missile. (but can be up to a 100 chaff fairly easily)

If you are defending against an IR threat in a Harrier like the Gr7 or FA2, forget it. BOL Doesnt work. At all. This is due to both how Ahistorically hot the Harriers are and how ahistorically weak BOL is.

BOL needs to be fixed, BOL should never have been fake nerfed like it was. Its time for us to actually get BOL modeled properly and finally get our decent CMs.

Periodic flaring is mostly unnecessary and is likely wasting more flares than you’re actually needing to use. But then with up to 320 of them, a few wasted here and there isn’t exactly a big deal.

And multiple drops of chaff is common for all calibres because its not as simple as just breaking the lock of an IR missile.

All in all though, the BOL pods are very reliable in the jets I’ve used and the large pool of countermeasures is a substantial benefit.

My average in the Tornado GR4 to defeat an AMRAAM is 2.

My Average in any BOL Carrier is 20+

BOL needs to be fixed and I want the Tornado F3 Late to get a Phimat pod to go alongside those fixed BOL.

Only if they were actually 1 for 1 to regular CMs. They aren’t You need 4 chaff to match the performance of a singel regular chaff and flaring with BOL is usually just not worth trying.

Typhoon I run 64 LCM flares and 320 chaff simply because BOL Doesnt work against IRCCM in my experience and when im defending against a threat, I switch on periodic CM release for chaff only and will drop at least 20, propbably actually more like 40 or 50 per threat.

Sounds like confirmation bias

Why?

Typhoon should be able to defeat an AMRAAM or any ARH or SARH threat significantly easier than a Tornado GR4, but its not. BOL litereally has 1/4 the chaff mass it should have.

This isnt confirmation bias, this is provable fact. Bug report linked above.

BOL chaff should have 100% the same performance as regular chaff, but its 1/4 the strength, and with how chaff usually works, the difference is far more extreme than that.

Not really 100% just 18% less instead of the 75% less than it currently have.

No. It probably should be the same mass. There is a slight unknown, but it is beleived the mass given for both the soviet cartridge and the BOL cartridge include the mass of the casing. BOL uses plastic, the soviet one is metal.

Its more than likely that the difference in mass is from that and the amount of actual chaff would be the same, and given the fact that all chaff in the game, no matter the nation, just uses the exact same analogue, the soviet chaff cartridge, then making BOL chaff just be a regular CM makes life simple and easy, otherwise they need to start modeling everyones chaff mass to be different.

and even then 18% =/= 75%

Did you read the bug report that youre quoting? It literally states that “An 18% degrease in total mass in no way justifies a 75% decrease in radar signature.”…
If youre going to use someone else as a reference at least keep your claims consisntent.

Yes, I am aware. There was a discussion elsewhere on the forums with the bug author about the casing weight and a guy who actually works in the factory iirc.

Unfortunately without a primary source to confirm that both weights given include the casing weight, it has to be reported as is, but it is nonetheless believed that it does include the casing weight and thus the difference in mass would be minimal.

Either way, being 1/4 of the strength of a regular chaff packet is totally unjustified

The F5 was a trainer jet. Not sure what went so wrong with the jag… it looks a good air frame design but feels like its powered with a lawn mower engine.
If it was up to me the id remove the 9.7 missiles, give it 10gs and put it at 9.3
The 10.7 to 10.0 as it is.

Lets hope they listen and do a little harrer buff.
Its a wierd business plan for sure.
Theres plenty of premium harriers which would obviously be bought way more if they were better…

Same with tornado. If it actually turned.like it was ment to IRL, give it AOA button or something, again more money spent on premiums and more fun for us all.

Same with having 2 identical phantoms. Remove the PD or whatever just put one of them to 11.3

I just mostly play china and US now. I dont have any of these complaints over there. Good jets, any BR you like really.

Found it

The Jag has a very long, confusing and rather funny history, suffice to say, it was never meant to do more than train pilots going from sub-sonic trainers to super-sonic trainers. F-5 was at least designed to train pilots to dogfight.

GR1 I think has the weakest missiles it ever used and with the issue of supersonics, even a pretty poor one like the Jag, shouldnt be lower BR anyway.

GR1A… I think 10.0 would be too low, it does have Flares and a lot of chaff, but should get a much better RWR and I think it would do fine at 10.3.

Also, dont judge ground attackers in ARB, none do well. In ASB, a gamemode where PvE exists, they are pretty decent and I enjoy them.

Yeah… Currently we are all praying they finish the Sea Harrier HUD, they started last major update and only did about half of it. and its tenatively worse off now that it was before they started with what is missing.

Did have an AOA button, did get reported, but Gaijin said no one else at the moment, which is a shame.

FM is also unfinished, it was a LOT worse, and they “fixed it” but “game limitaitons” prevented them from fully finishing it. but in the process took a hit to its max speed. Also missing combat thrust which would be a good boost to acceleration. Also the Tornado GR1 has the wrong engines. Everyone else has Mk103s.

I want the FG1 to drop to 11.7 and the FGR2 to remain at 12.0 but get AIm-9Ls. That would probably do. FGR2 can also get a few other A2G weapons like AJ168 Martels and AGM-12 Bullpups

My opinion remains that India should not be unconditionally within the British Tech Tree past their independence.

The right step would be to rename the tree to Commonwealth or something and start adding even more SA and Indian stuff. Other CW states are welcome too.

It’s been proven that UK can’t sustain a tech tree on it’s own.

When and where?

What cannot be provided by Britain?

Air:

This is everything we can get:

But we already have apparently the most OP top tier fighter in game right now and as such it has to be artifically nerfed so that it isnt so completely dominating.

Ground:

Fix the CR2 and add the CR3.

As far as I am aware, neither India nor SA adds anything that britain needs for Ground

Naval:

its the royal navy, we dont need anything.
