Indian Air Tree

Thinking about it a little bit more. I come to the conclusion that it’s Ground RB battle ratings and not Air RB ratings. Still there’s some vehicle placements that is still off Ground battle or not. But that explanation does make more sense

Indian Hunters were never armed with any AAM’s and i don’t think they were mounted with CM either. Even if they did arm AAM’s, they won’t be AIM-9’s due to India being under a weapons embargo that forbade India from buying US made weapons since the US sided with Pakistan during the Cold War. It would exclusively be Magic 1’s

It would be part ground part air then… kinda weird, but whatever

+1. Great tree suggestion.

Some improvement with respect to Tejas I would like to see:

  1. Separate the Tejas mk1 in the IOC and FOC variants. The reason for this is that IOC variant did not have the BVR missiles and the gun integrated. Along with that the AoA for IOC variant was also limited to 24 degrees compared to 28 degree for FOC.

  2. Atleast one of the LCA Navy prototype should be in the Tech Tree. My preference is for NP2.

  3. The Tejas mk1 SPORT was a proposed system. It was never built. Instead you can suggest the normal Tejas trainer variant.

Also, the trainers like HTT40, HPT32 never had weapon capability so I don’t think they should be included. Same is for HJT32 Yashas. No weapon firing yet from that aircraft. Instead Hawk i can replace it as it has weapon firing capability.

Yep, more specifically the IOC II since it would be the viable one (if I’m not mistaken the IOC I has no gun, but not sure on that)

I dunno about that, they’re just prototypes and would basically just be Tejas but chunky. For a plane that would rely on its agility, not sure this would be viable.

A tejas trainer could be a fun premium I guess, but probably nothing more

I know that the HTT40 can mount munitions on the wings for training and COIN purposes, it’s just we still yet to see any photographic evidence for it. The Sitaras/Yasha’s are definitely meant to carry weapons. There’s one image with a Sitara with possible secondary loadouts, granted the image in question is back when the Sitara is in it’s mockup phase. The point still stands.

The other problem is that there’s only one other Hawk variant that you can add which is the Advanced Hawk prototype. India didn’t operate any other variant of the Hawk as far as i know of

Didn’t stop Gaijin from giving aircraft like the Yak-141 weapons that was only proposed for it. So i don’t think it would be egregious to add in the SPORT.

At least one of the LCA Navy prototype should be in the Tech Tree. My preference is for NP2.

Do agree with that though that would only really work if the TT was re worked from the ground up, replacing the lines from vehicles based on the origins of the vehicles to their roles to make way for a Naval line which is indeed possible to do even if it’s a little bit sparse.

With regard to HTT40, there has only been proposals from HAL to IAF to develop a COIN variant of it. In my knowledge there has never been any mounting of munitions on the wings.

Sitara is definitely able to mount weapons. Only Yashas I am yet to see any weapons mounted and because it is very new we might need to wait on it.

For Hawk, as far as I know the Advanced Hawk never really went anywhere. Hawk i was the prelude to Advanced Hawk and hence had weapon tests with SAAW and was also supposed to have tested the ASRAAM.

One question I had regarding the LCA Navy Mk2, its design was frozen and metal cutting for building its prototype had also started. Would it be feasible to include that as well in TT even though by definition it is a paper aircraft?

+1.

My tree version is packed in 4 lines so doing this in 5 lines is very much possible

Include this bomb

Yeah that makes more sense, we already have plenty of copy paste.

What’s with war thunder player and Indian tech tree obsession

imo gaijin should only add the unique airframes into the british tree and ignore every other design bc like an indian TT has only like 7 unique airframes

The same thing as Poland, it should be a tech tree but isn’t, so people ask for it

Can someone tell me if India uses mica ir? I could not find any reliable info

They must yeah, Rafale and m2k 5f can carry those, it’s the basic missile included in any Rafale package.
