Note: This thread is very incomplete is currently under construction so please be patient as i fill out the details. Also if you have any additional info, images, sources or even vehicles i missed please let me know
Finally i’ll be referring to the Afrikaaner name of “Suid Afrika” instead of the English name of “South Africa” with some exceptions
Everybody should know that Suid-Afrika was added in March 2021 with some Suid Afrikan vehicles such as the Rooikat 76 being added even earlier as a subtree to the UK TT. Ever since then Gaijin used it to cover the various weaknesses of the UK Ground TT such as the absence of Light vehicles as well as the lack of SPG’s and Anti-Air vehicles. However the decision to add Suid Afrika as a Subtree has created several issues with 2 major ones that i’ll list. Firstly the Addition of Suid Afrika gave Gaijin the excuse to kick the issue of “Adding Domestic British LT’s, SPAA’s, SAM’s and TD’s/SPG’s” down the road, only adding domestic British LT’s very recently in the form of the Fox and Vickers Mk.11. The other issue is that because Suid Afrika is a British Subtree a lot of domestic and modified Suid Afrikan designs get left behind. Because of that the only real solution to this issue is to make Suid Afrika a proper independent TT within it’s own right.
While looking up what vehicles would be represented in a Independent Suid-Afrikan TT i noticed that quite a few were exports or joint ventures between ZA & another nation with one nation in particular that keeps popping up, Jordan. Because of that I made 2 version of the TT’s with and without a Jordanian Subtree. Suid Afrika had some involvement in the development of some Iraqi SPG’s so they will be represented too
In the case of Neighbouring African Nations, i’ll be only choosing nations that have close ties with Suid-Afrika so nations like Namibia, Botswana, South Rhodesia, Rhodesia-Zimbabwe and Malawi (maybe Eswatini and Lesotho if i can find any vehicles for either) will be represented but not Angola or Mozambique.
What an Independent Suid Afrikan TT could possibly look like

Playstyle wise Suid-Afrika by itself would be a more extreme version of the Italian playstyle while with the addition of a Jordanian Subtree in one way or another would address some of Suid-Afrika’s most pressing drawbacks such as lack of Top-Tier MBT’s & SPAA for example while still retaining the playstyle of the Suid Afrikan TT

Spoiler
The Percival Provost is a light attack and COIN aircraft operated by South Rhodesia during the Bush war. It’s equip with 2 forward firing lmgs for offensive armaments, mountable armaments include RP-3 rockets and up to 2 500lbs bombs. Like with the other Bomber Mosquito’s it completely lacks any offensive armaments to make way for the bombardier compartment. It can also be retrofitted for photo reconnaissance missions
This is added as a squadron vehicle since it is a Mosquito without any offensive armaments so defending itself except for a lucky bomb drop. Despite this the bomb is large enough to take out a base as well as be very competitive in Ground and Naval battles

MB-326M: Can also be referred to as the “Impala I (Early)”
Spoiler
This suppose to represent the very early MB-326M “Impala”, because of that it will have several omissions in comparison to the “Impala I” later down the line such as lack of AAM’s, guided weapons and most likely the omission of CM. It will still retain a Ballistics computer.
One weapon that the Impalas will get starting with this one is the addition of a unique MG-151 Gunpod for additional firepower
This is mainly to fill in a large gap in the second line of the TT

Spoiler
This is suppose to represent Hunter FGA.9’s operated by Rhodesia Zimbabwe onwards. It will get a ballistics computer, countermeasures and an expanded Air to Ground loadout
CF-5A: Operated by Botswana
Spoiler
Botswana obtained 13 CF-5A’s from Canada from 1996 to 2000 to replace their aging fleet of Strikemasters further pushed by a design flaw found on the Strikemaster that caused premature fatigue on the wings. They still operate to this day [as of 2024] however they are being planned to be phased out with either the Gripen or Tejas Mk.1A being likely candidates
I remember somewhere where Canadair, the builders of the CF-5A were doing some modernization to Canadian CF-5’s sometime in the 1990’s however i do not remember the exact details of it
Hawk-60: Operated by Rhodesia Zimbabwe and Zimbabwe
Spoiler
Several Hawks were brought by Rhodesia Zimbabwe mainly to modernize their fleet of aircraft particularly their Vampires for ground attack roles. By the time the first Hawks arrived Rhodesia Zimbabwe became Zimbabwe in 1982. The Zimbabwean Airforce still operates them to this day at a limited capacity
Armament wise it will consists of either a 12.7 or 30mm autocannon, various dumb bombs, rocketpods, some guided bombs and AIM-9L AAM’s
Hunter T.81: Operated by Rhodesia Zimbabwe and Zimbabwe
Spoiler
Rhodesia obtained at least a handful of ex Kenyan Hunter T.81’s for training and ground attack roles
Buccaneer S.50:
Spoiler
Unique Suid-Afrikan variant of the venerable Buccaneer Strike aircraft with a wider selection of dumb bombs to choose from as well as using AS-30 AGM’s instead of the Bullpups. Suid Afrikan Buccaneers can use either the RP or SNEB rocketpods just like their British counterparts (though the latter is not added ingame for whatever reason). Finally it has a deployable RATO capabilities and it’s exclusively a Land variant due to Zuid Afrika never operating any Aircraft Carriers. The main drawback to the S.50 is the total absence of AAM’s of any kind as well as the total absence of a refueling probe.
It was used extensively as a Ground Attack, Strike, Interdiction and CAS aircraft during the Border war against Angola.
Finally it will be Suid Afrika’s Tier VI nuclear carrying aircraft in RGB

Hunter FGA.9 “1st Squadron” (Premium/Pre-order):

K-8 Karakorum (Premium): Operated by Namibia
CF-5D (Squadron): Operated by Botswana
Spoiler
Botswana obtained 5 CF-5D’s around the same time as they were receiving their CF-5A’s. The CF-5D’s like with their American counterparts the F-5B lack any inbuilt guns. Because of this it will be relegated as a Ground Attack, CAS & Strike aircraft

Kfir C.9 (Event): Proposed vehicle, never completed
Spoiler
The Kfir C.9 was a proposed variant of the IAI Kfir for the Argentine Airforce. The Argentines wanted to modernize their airforce without breaking the bank, the Kfirs are also very similar to the Mirage III’s that Argentina is operating making training pilots for it especially their Mirage pilots as seamless as possible. However due to several factors the Argentine Airforce never adopted it. Argentina wasn’t the only country that is interested in the Kfir. Zuid Afrika was also interested in the Kfir for a lot of the same reasons especially spurred by the embargos originally just for arms sales has now extended to economic ones as well starting from the late 1970’s begin to take it’s toll on the Zuid Afrikan economy. Ultimately though Suid Afrika didn’t adopt the Kfir either, instead using it as a base for Suid Afrika to develop their own multirole jet aircraft which eventually became the Cheetah.

Unimog KPV-T & 20mm HS.404: Operated by both Zuid Afrika and South Rhodesia
Spoiler
Both Zuid Afrika and South Rhodesia operated several hundred Unimogs for several purposes including resupply runs, general logistics, troop transport and recce missions. In the case of the latter the Zuid Afrikans and South Rhodesians mounted several anti-infantry, anti-air and even anti-armour and anti-tanks. This includes several captured KPV-T HMG’s and HS.404 Autocannons. Even though these modifications were done at the 1970’s all the AA weapons shown were low tech so seeing them in a WWII and a early post WWII isn’t too egregious

Spoiler
The Casspir is a encased MRAP developed in the late 1970’s after the massive increase to not only disabling of vehicles from AT mines but also injuries and even deaths inflicted from Anti-Personnel mines. Experiencing this an ordinance was implemented to develop a new MRAP. Zuid Afrika were already fielding MRAVS in the form of the Hippo and Buffel as well as South Rhodesia having their own similar developments such as the Pookie for example. However each 3 have serious drawbacks, the Hippo for example was literally a Bedford truck modified to be a MRAP which worked but it’s far from ideal. This was an intentional choice since it was supposed to be a stopgap when a proper MRAP was developed. The Buffel was built from the ground up to be a proper MRAP with foldable walls. It was far more successful than the Hippo however it did came with one major flaw, it was opened top, making it resistant to mines at the cost of being more vulnerable to mortar fire, grenade toss or even a arcing flamethrower attack. Finally the Pookie was enclosed like the Casspir however it was tiny, can only seat the driver in the protected compartment and used wheels from a salvaged F1 Car because of that the Pookie was used exclusively as a mineclearing vehicle by first by the South Rhodesians then the Zimbabweans and even the UN. The Casspir combined the enclosed nature of the Pookie with the troop compartment of the Buffel without sacrificing top protection for the troops
The Casspir baptism of fire was during the Border war where it was proven to be very successful where they protected troops from AT mines even if when it’s fully disabled. The success of the Casspir didn’t go unnoticed. Their main adversary the MPLA and their Cuban allies made their own attempts in making MRAP’s themselves by modifying ZIL trucks. Several other nations were also paying attention to these types of vehicles as well. Once Apartheid was ended in 1994 and the subsequent embargos lifted, several nations began to place orders on the Casspir which included Egypt, India, Iraq, Namibia and even the USMC.
Several variants of the Casspir were made ranging from minor upgrades in various aspects to even new wheel layouts such as the Sesspir for example which was a proposed variant of a 6 wheeled Casspir. Only one Sesspir was built. Weaponwise it was normally it was equipped with either a 7.62 or 12.7mm machine gun however on some occasions a 20mm HS.404 Autocannon was mounted instead. Some Casspirs have the troop compartment omitted and replaced with a flatbed where a M40A1 recoilless rifle can be mounted alongside an ammo compartment for said recoilless rifle

Ultimately 9 Centurions had this modification since this is a stopgap for a more permanent upgrade package is implemented

The F-16/79 was mainly competing with the F-20 Tigershark and like with the Tigershark failed to get any orders and eventually the whole program being Axed. Jordan did eventually brought F-16’s just more run of the mill F-16A’S
Because of that it will only be added as an rare Event or Tournament reward vehicle

Temsah (M621): Had some technical assistance from Zuid Afrika
Spoiler
The Temsah is Jordan’s attempt to prolong the lifespan of Jordan’s fleet of Tariq’s, primarily by modifying them from MBT’s to APC’s & IFV’s. This was done by Jordanian King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (KADDB) alongside an unidentified South African firm. They achieved this by majorly overhauling the interior of the Tariq, allowing for a door to be mounted on the rear of the chassis, the engine was also moved to the Front. One of the Temsah’s was used as a testbed for the GIAT M621 autocannon for feasibility of a 20mm Autocannon on it. The trials did show promise ultimately though it wasn’t accepted and instead a British built 20mm was chosen instead

The MAP II also known as the Al Dawsar was an other attempt to prolong the lifespan of the Tariq’s, again by modifying the chassis of the Tariq into a APC & IFV. Like with the Temsah it was done by KADDB, one major difference is that the main entrance is place infront of the APC as well as the back, the Temsah in comparison can only be accessed from the rear. The Al Dawsar can mount an RCWS that consists of a M2HB Browning and Kornet ATGM’s. A 30mm autocannon can also be mounted on the RCWS as well if needed
