Hi everyone! Me and others have been comparing the Bofors 40 mm Automatic Gun L/70 ammunition as it appears across different nations in-game, and after plotting the data and checking basic performance specs, I’ve run into several inconsistencies that don’t really line up with how this gun system was standardized in real life. It’s time to point out what looks off and to hopefully gather better information and sources with help from the community.
List of potentially affected vehicles
Ground Vehicles:
(USA) Sgt. York M247, (Italy) Bofors 40/70, (France) AMX-13 DCA 40, (Sweden) Lvkv 42, (Sweden) VEAK 40
Naval:
(Ger) Jaguar, (Ger) Köln, (Ger) Hugin, (Ger) Pfeil, (Ger) Schütze, (Ger) Lübeck, (Ita) Saetta P-494, (Ita) Albatros, (Ita) Alcione, (Ita) Freccia P-493, (Ita) Baleno MC-492
Disclaimer:
This post does not cover the Bofors 40mm L/70B, the later modular upgrade introduced in the late 1990s–2000s for platforms such as the CV9040 and K21.
It also does not cover the L/70 Mark 3, the most modern variant.
These systems fall outside the era and do not apply to the vehicles currently represented in-game.
