As you can see, the Sholef weighs 60 tons according to gaijin. (IRL it’s 45 tons, I’ll get to why 60 makes no sense) Well how did that weight get there?
=bug reports have been made but it’s still a ridiculous mistake they made=
The turret according to gaijin has slightly more armor than the m109, and the m109 weighs 24.1 tons.
This means the weight is in the body of the tank, not the turret.
Merkava mk1 weighs +1 ton yet has almost double the turret armor of the Sholef. This already makes no sense.
MK1 to MK2 is a transmission upgrade, along with 10+ mm of armor added to the sideskirts, with some 25mm composites being added to the turret. This transition is 2 tons. REMEMBER, 2 TONS.
The Namer almost weighs the same amount at 61 tons, yet it’s supposed to be the most armored IFV in the world, even more armored than the Merkava MK4, which not only has an entire composite turret, but also APS on top. [not modeled at all in game because copy paste MK4 front plate is haha so funny.] This has 1 extra ton of weight to the hull can only come from the composites up front, (the screen and inner armor) and the composite screen side-skirts, which are 95mm thick according to gaijin. But to add onto this weight, it has the engine of the merkava MK3 and almost the exact same transmission as the MK2B. So how is it 1 ton heavier than the Sholef when the MK2B with less armor has 3 extra tons? It makes so sense weight wise.
Now for the MK4. The MK4 weighs in at 65.5 tons, having huge composites surrounding the turret, a bigger gun than the MK2B, Better engine, better transmission, 95mm composite screens, thick composite blocks in the hull of the tank, and APS to top all of that. This transition between the MK2B and MK4 is only 2.5 tons??? But the MK1 to MK2 was a 2 ton difference with very small changes. It doesn’t add up in any way, and most definitely isn’t 5.5 tons more than the Sholef.
As for the Namer vs the MK4, the front plate is the same and so are the side skirts. Yeah, apparently that’s what makes it 61 tons vs 65. It doesn’t have the huge composite turret, barrel, APS, transmission, engine, or thick side blocks of composites that the MK4 has. All of that only adds up to 4 tons of armor? Even though it was said that the Namer was supposed to be more armored than the MK4…
Something is very wrong with the weight, not just the Sholef. The armor is off too. What do yall think?
And because it’s on the topic, what tanks do you think or know also have weight problems?
