If you’re curious of what is the ilyushin il-102, the link is here!
The countermeasures:
So I did some digging and I found out that the aircraft could possibly have countermeasures despite the aircraft not having countermeasures during the time of its flight.
I think these are the same countermeasures found on the Mig-21 and su-25, one of these ASO-2 Dispensers (I think) can hold 30 to 32 countermeasures and since this aircraft has two of them, one on each Wing tip, the total will be 60 to 64 countermeasures.
These are larger countermeasures, UV-50 and or KUV-50 dispenser systems I think, one wingtip can have 12 countermeasures or 24 in total.
Even though the aircraft did not have countermeasures installed because it was a prototype, these countermeasures would help out quite a lot or maybe help.
the aircraft didn’t have a built-in laser designator for laser guided weapons and it didn’t have a TV in the cockpit neither. Although it does have R-60ms and R-73s.
And I don’t know if there is a laser pod that could work with the aircraft or if the aircraft itself can’t / can even use a laser pod.
I would have made a suggestion but obviously someone else made one before me.
So what do you think about this aircraft, the countermeasures, the camouflages, my concerns and my findings?
If it didn’t had countermeasures at the time or it’s an optional component—developers can decice to not add with advanced weapons like guided bombs, air-to-air missiles and so on if they feel like it doesn’t need like the Yak-130 situation.
If the Developers doesn’t give the aircraft countermeasures, guided weapons and air to air missiles. What BR do you think that this thing will be fine at?
If no smart weapons are considered, at least battle rating 8.3 (realistic battles) and maximum battle rating 9.3 (realistic battles) mainly due to the engine performance which has an noticeable superior values compared to the Su-25s’ UMPO R-95SH if the information in the suggestion post is accurate.
That actually make some sense for the ilyushin il-102 being 8.3 - 9.3 AR without countermeasures, air to air missiles and guided weapons.
But since this thing is supposed to be a rival to the SU-25 (I think), would it be kinda cool to give this thing countermeasures and air-to-air missiles at 10.7 AR (with R-60s) or 11.0 AR (With R-73s)?
Since the aircraft doesn’t have a laser designator and it would use unguided ordinance like rockets and bombs, it would make a perfect folder vehicle with the SU-25 or SU-25T.
