If the r27ea comes, then the aim-152 should come

The Aim-152 was to be the successor of the aim-54 phoenix. But got cancelled due to the cold war ending. The prototype of the aim-152 was never built. The R-27ea was a variant that was never built.
It had 2 models one from Hughes/ Raytheon and the other from GD/ Westinghouse.

Hughes/Raytheon :

  • Length: 3.66 m (12 ft)
  • Diameter: 231 mm (9 in)
  • Weight: < 300 kg (660 lb)
  • Speed: > Mach 3
  • Range: > 185 km (115 miles) (100 nm)
  • Propulsion: Rocket/ramjet engine
  • Warhead: 14 to 23 kg (30 to 50 lb) blast-fragmentation

GD/Westinghouse :

  • Length: 3.66 m (12 ft)
  • Diameter: 140 mm (5.5 in)
  • Weight: 172 kg (380 lb)
  • Speed: > Mach 3
  • Range: > 185 km (100 nm) (115 miles)
  • Propulsion: Multiple-pulse solid-propellant rocket
  • Warhead: 14 to 23 kg (30 to 50 lb) blast-fragmentation

the launch platform is the f14 and possibly to the f18 f15 and f16

R27ea was built but never used. Even the seeker exists.

If ram jet missile come, i expect meteor and r77 ram jet to be added.

Only the seeker exists in terms of proof that has been provided. There is nothing about the 27EA being built. The R-27A was built and tested, but not the EA

i agree about the a

but what do you think about the aim-152 being added in the future

i dont think it’ll be a good idea to increase the br of the already mid F14’s

Would it really matter tho since seeker can be used fot both body ?

There no difference of the physical body btw A and EA

unless it comes with aim 9x cause it was in service when the 9x comes and add hmd(possilbly)

although not planned to be integrated due politcs

the motor is different of course

It’s just a R-27ER with a R-77 seeker plugged in. Russians build their weapons using a modular system, many of the parts are cross compatible.

It should still be built iirc. The booster making the E was not attached to the A

If that was the case, missiles like the Typhoon AGM would be added to due to sharing a PARS seeker and a ASRAAM body (although that was at least mockup ig)

cough cough kh38MT

PARS Warhead, not seeker.

I am a big fan of this as a F-14 player

this missile is actually real holy shit

Isn’t this just a basic 27ER with some random stuff? And aren’t the colored seeker domes on things like the 27P? Radar looks a bit different (more like the R-77’s radar than the 27EA one), but even with all the given things, it appears its still a mockup with what appears to be planned stats.

The site that showed this just says R-27E too
