For context, the Falcon SPAA has recently had the damage model for a radar added to the dev server.

This is based on reporting done using the brochure for the Hispano Suiza A14D Auto-Follow Anti-Aircraft Turret. As a note, this brochure never once mentions the Falcon system by name, the A14D turret is different shape to the Falcon turret, and it differs in specifications from the Falcon turret when compared to actual Falcon primary documentation from Vickers. Though the two systems are related, it’s an all round different turret, hence why the change is ahistorical.
Anyways, the addition of the radar now squarely places the Falcon as a 8.3 anti-air system in line with the Marksman, Gepard, and the rest of the gang. Whilst the jump in capabilities could be considered nice, it now means that what was previously (following the removal of the APDS) a good option for an anti-air system around 7.7-8.0 will now never realistically be anywhere other than the exact same BR as the Chieftain Marksman, meaning that any potential the Falcon previously had to alleviate Britain’s huge SPAA gap is now gone.
This is why, if gaijin do wish to go ahead with a radar system for the Falcon, with the historical authenticity being extremely dubious at best, it’s a no brainer that this comes alongside an additional Falcon without the radar, potentially as Falcon and Falcon (R), or whatever would work best.
This could either be a direct copy-paste of the existing Falcon with no radar, or it could be an earlier model of the Falcon that had a couple of minor external differences as well as a different engine installed.

For anyone thinking of saying ‘Smin said the Falcon wasn’t getting moved down even after the APDS removal’, the latest sets of stats have come in for the Falcons performance without the APDS and it has plummeted across the board. While the stats still aren’t awful, if it continues to follow this trend even only for one more month, as players continue to drop the vehicle, then it would end up in consideration for a BR lowering.

Fully agree. The 5.3 to 8.3 SPAA gap is massive with the only SPAA’s that can really go there are 5.7 or 6.0 with the Laird Centaur or the Jordanian Ratel with a Ukrainian 23mm turret.
I would however like to see a QF 3.7" AA gun on something with HE-VT at 6.0 just because it would be funny

It should be dropped to 7.7 with a radar.
Without, it can go to 7.0 or 6.7

Even with radar its at best a M163 with a little more pen.
move to 7.7. and the one with no radar to 6.7

Isn’t radarless shilka not enough?
It is a better AA though at 7.3. And at 7.0, the number of heavies peak so Falcon would struggle more than at 8.0
Honestly I disagree with that. I think the Falcon is better than the Shilka. It’s faster with higher muzzle velocity. 7.3 should be fine for it.
less dakka than the shilka tho. and the worlds biggest turret ring
I would just like to clarify here before this gets misquoted further, this was not what was said. Every BR is always subject to change.
We said, the BR was not going to change in the previous round of BR changes with the APDS removal, however the vehicle would be monitored after the removal of these rounds and any changes to its performance taken into consideration in the future.
We also clarified the BR was not going to go down with this major update even if the radar was not introduced, as the BR remaining where it was between the last BR update and now had nothing to do with the radar being planned. That was announced during the last round of BR changes as it was brought up quite a lot during the last round of feedback, bug reported and requested by many in the British community (to add the radar). Some also began to falsely claim the developers “lied” despite that never being the case and us explaining the investigation was still ongoing. With all of this in mind, it was decided to go ahead and introduce the radar, as it was clearly something people wanted to see.
The Falcon can go up or down depending on its performance by the next BR review. But that was never dependant on the radar.
completely wrong, you are underselling the falcon by quite a lot

Please just bug-report the hell out of that fake radar. The Falcon never had one and it shouldn’t get one here either.
Also it will always be better then the M163. That that thing is still 7.3 is honestly astounding.
I appreciate the clarification, but I strongly disagree with adding the radar under pressure from players when the source used to add it has clearly been used inappropriately and misleadingly.
Regardless, if the devs are set on a radar been the long term plan for the Falcon, it would be a zero-effort addition to retain the current radar-less Falcon as a separate vehicle, which would be the best of both worlds and keep everyone happy.
He likes to undersell GB vehicles.
How do gaijin monitor other SPAAs’ and Planes’ efficiency then? Especially when we have separated GRB plane BRs yet we can’t see separated stats for GRB with public stats?
