Mirage 2000-5 -YAYOI- Ace Combat Infinity

With the recent update we have seen the addition of the Mirage 2000-5F so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to suggests more Idolm@ster liveries for planes.

This was downloadable aircraft skin that was available for Ace Combat: Infinity in 2015 . It was called “Mirage 2000-5 -YAYOI-”. Earlier it was released in Ace Combat Assault horizon as well as Ace combat 6 however this skin has been updated with Yayoi’s newer model from the most recent game at the time.

The paint scheme also features another one of Bandai’s large IP’s called Taiko no Tatsujin which most people in the west call it just “Taiko” (for those who don’t know the drum arcade game) with the mascot’s faces of the game being put on the plane.

I think this skin could allow WarThunder to have a collaboration with Bandai and bring a bit of anime and fun to the game for people that enjoy the fun anime camouflages available on https://live.warthunder.com/

History of Idolm@ster:

The Idolm@ster is a Japanese multimedia franchise that originated as a video game series developed by Namco Bandai Games (now known as Bandai Namco Entertainment). The first game in the series, The Idolm@ster, was released in 2005 for the Xbox 360 console. The game’s success led to the development of sequels and spin-offs, which in turn spawned a wide range of related media, including anime adaptations, manga, light novels, and music CDs.

The franchise revolves around the concept of idol groups, which are popular in Japan and other parts of Asia. Idols are young performers who sing, dance, and act in a variety of media, including music videos, television shows, and live performances. The Idolm@ster focuses on the lives and careers of aspiring female idols, who work together to achieve success in the highly competitive entertainment industry.

The main characters in The Idolm@ster are a group of 13 aspiring idols who are managed by the player character. Each of the idols has her own distinct personality, backstory, and talent, ranging from singing and dancing to acting and modeling. The player must guide the idols through various challenges, including training sessions, auditions, and live performances.

The gameplay in The Idolm@ster is a mix of simulation and rhythm game elements. The player must manage the idols’ schedules, training, and outfits, as well as participate in rhythm game-style music and dance performances. The game also features a social simulation aspect, where the player must interact with the idols and build relationships with them to improve their performances.

The success of The Idolm@ster led to the development of numerous sequels and spin-offs, each with its own unique cast of characters and gameplay mechanics. For example, The Idolm@ster 2, released in 2011 for the PlayStation 3, introduced a new set of idols and gameplay features, including the ability to customize the idols’ hairstyles and outfits.

The Idolm@ster has also been adapted into various forms of media, including anime series, manga, light novels, and music CDs. The anime adaptation, titled The Idolm@ster, aired in 2011 and follows the lives of the original 13 idols as they navigate the challenges of the entertainment industry. The franchise’s music has also become popular, with numerous CDs featuring the idols’ songs and performances.

Overall, The Idolm@ster franchise has gained a significant following both in Japan and internationally. The franchise’s engaging characters, catchy music, and exploration of the ups and downs of the idol industry have made it a popular choice among fans of Japanese media. It has also been praised for its positive portrayal of female empowerment and the importance of hard work and perseverance in achieving one’s goals.

There are also franchises that have have branched from the original one: Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls, Idolm@ster SideM, and Idolm@ster Shiny Colors. Each of these franchises have their own game(s) and animes* (Shiny color’s airs next year)

I know anime could work with warthunder like area 88 but Idolm@ster just does not work well for warthunder.

It would be preferable to do something like Gundam or Saga of Tanya the Evil as a event especially Saga of Tanya the Evil due to infantry mode.

You’ve got “the magnificent kotobuki” too, for WW2 stuff.

Or pull an insane one with “royal space force: the wings of honnêamise” (prob as a limited run event as Atomic thunder)

iDOLM@STER jets are massively iconic though, it’s a Whole Thing.

The main issue is that BamCo probably wouldn’t let gaijin get in on their Ace Combat Money with them

Ace combat gets to be special.

I heard that Bandai’s idolm@ster-Ace Combat collaboration(Somewhat similar to War Thunder-Senrai Maiden) saved one japanese model kit company (I might be wrong)

And I heard about this IP, so I am fine with the addition of this skin itself, but
The problem is four-part

1-Gaijin needs to improve, or whole rework on Fictional/Semi-historical/historical filter, or quite lots of playerbase gonna dislike it. I am fine with this skin but yeah, itasha-ish skin wouldn’t fit much with War Thunder vibe.
2- Gaijin’s willing to pay the license fee to Bandai. IIRC, Gaijin almost always homages things instead of proper co-op with other companies.
3- would Bandai Namco share part of their royal fanbase (who loves both Ace Combat and Idolmaster) and have a partnership with Gaijin
4- implemented, but being a regional exclusive event only for DMM players (Just like Eh, Strikes Witches, or Area 88 did.) and other players around the globe became painful.

If we can get somewhat kind of this, and Gaijin becomes a partner with Bandai Namco…
Maybe we can also see War Thunder X Ace Combat too.

Truth be told crossover events could be nice to spice things up as long Gaijin does not become distracted by them. There is more then anime out there but Gaijin for its semi-historical skins should pick a style that looks interesting and not a flying billboard. painting the character on the side of the plane in semi realistic style would be interesting like this:

I also prefer ‘Tiger girl’, because there are already JGSDF Kisarazu, and it fits the vibe better.

But I want both if Gaijin modifies the filter and gives everyone the choice of which skin will not be shown.
Well… more content, better, right?

Just… Gaijin need to rework the current filtering system, because there are some playerbases who might not like ‘this kind of skin’ just as much as Senrai Maiden went.

Can’t wait for this to be passed to Devs despite a 70% majority no

its for the Devs to decide if the 30% can make them enough $$$

Issue with tiger girl is that Lum (Urusei Yatsura) is trademarked and used by a beverage company to sell energy drink. Its hard to sue a military for Copy Right infringement for example many music artists of late have tried to sue a North American Country for that (if you know you know).

They might be able to sue WarThunder for infringement due to likeness but with some searches I have seen some products using that decal so maybe its enough difference to not be fightable but I doubt Gaijin would use some of the Disney charters some people painted on there WW2 aircraft and try that argument.

Though I wonder what @Thatz is thinking that one of there posts came back to life.

You know these skins technically count as an Ace Combat collab as these skins come from there.

And people want an Ace Combat collab, sooooo… Monkey paw curls

Anyways +1 as it gets people mad.

“We want Ace Combat Collab, they are cool!”

I think I saw similar skin from Ace Combat Assault Horizon, I guess.
