The bank card is the only viable method to confirm your location. Since you have to live in this country, go to the bank, open the account etc. It doesn’t have to be a Visa specifically.
That’s a problem because my bank card is Debit Maestro and doesn’t have a CVC/CVV code, which is a required field in the checkout. I even contacted my bank and they confirmed Dutch bank cards don’t have that code…So it seems we are screwed then.
Ask them for special card you can use in internet. It’s a thing in various countries (they work like credit cards, but to use it you need to charge it with money from your account). Such cards got number and CVV code and are usually an additional product you can add to your bank account.
You are correct, my bank offers those kind of cards, but nothing is free in this world and those cards cost a certain amount per month to own hence the reason i don’t want to have one. It’s the same reason why i don’t own a credit card.
And i never needed one since Paypal en iDeal was always available in the store until recently…
Such cards that you describe are not authorized for the online purchases anyway so you have to use another one, there are many free virtual options out there.
PayPal and Ideal are available, but not for Ukraine that you have in your account settings currently for whatever reason. I changed it back to Netherlands since you have a Dutch mobile number linked.
Thank you very much! That’s what i had been trying to do via customer support but got stuck in a loop about needing to make a successful payment in order for the country to switch to NL.
Now it finaly show me the payment methods that i have been using in the past, problem solved!
I have exactly the same problem. When I want to make purchases, I can only use Visa or Mastercard. The problem is, I can only pay with iDeal because I don’t have a credit card. So now my question is if you can also set up my account so that I can pay with iDeal.

You have to talk to support and provide some proof that you live in the country you want to change your account to. Local mobile number is one way of doing so.
Cause if you don’t see Ideal it means you don’t have Netherlands in your profile settings.
May I ask who is imposing these limits? Are the limits the same for each country?

One of my largest concerns is that the Anniversary Sale is going on and I can’t buy anything.
What exactly is your issue? Are you talking about Ideal as well? I see that you have US in your store settings, and in this case obviously you won’t see a local Dutch payment method.
I would say that no longer being given the option to use my debit card for purchases is my issue.
And when you try to use regular visa/master button it’s getting declined? Or do you have one of those cards without CVV code?
My card has a CVV code. When I attempt to use it as a Visa it is declined.
I’ve contacted my bank; my card has no restrictions yet was declined from purchasing from the Gaijin Store.
This is why using the “other options” was my only option. Yet that option is now gone.
I am also having this issue. I live in the US, and there is no usable payment option —no Paypal, no Visa, nothing. I tried to use the article on the support website, and there is no option for changing location.
I feel you need to hit up support and ask them why at least Paypal isn’t there.
That’s the best place to chase up payment issues and such.
I am having the exact same problem, the payment is getting declined, card has no restrictions.
Localisation? i’m in Netherlands and i can only use VISA. While IDEAL, XSOLLA and Klarna are literally the easiest and most used payment options here. Almost nobody uses credit/debit cards.
I have the same problem ! but it even says i live in china and the only option to change country is buying something with a visa card. I dont have one :(
When will this get fixed? I can’t even use Yandex anymore, or PayPal, please!
It just boggles me to think of all the money Gaijin lost out on this past Xmas due to this discrepancy.
Any idea when it will get fixed? We’ve been waiting for months now.
