I’ve always enjoyed unique heavy tanks like the IS-7 and Object 279. They don’t just look impressive — they offer a different kind of gameplay, where armor protection and direct engagements play a major role.
I think adding more vehicles with similar characteristics could benefit both the players and Gaijin.
First, these vehicles could appeal to players who enjoy heavily armored tanks and give longtime players something different to look forward to.
Second, unique vehicles often have strong collector appeal. They could also encourage more participation in events and interest in premium content, which could benefit the game’s long-term development.
Of course, proper BR placement and game balance are essential. I’m not suggesting that heavy tanks should be invincible. I’d simply like armor protection to remain a meaningful advantage alongside firepower and mobility.
I hope War Thunder continues to explore interesting historical heavy tanks, experimental designs, and prototypes, rather than focusing mainly on newer MBTs.
