There’s not much that can be done about it radar-wise, however the heat signature is absolutely silly.
literally.
My point regarding that is the S300 has shown its unreliability its just about every major deployment irl, from Venezuela, Syria, Iran, and even Russia it self, its shown its lack of reliability to shoot down incoming threats.

Not to mention its “ability to spot F35s”
Interesting seeing many of these batteries were leveled by F35s. Now if it can detect and “track” F35s how come they are being destroyed.

so has the patriot recently
Because the F-35 can fire weapons from outside its detection range?
Like, yeah, the S-300 can likely track an F-35 at say, 25-30km. That doesn’t mean much when a JDAM-ER or SBD can be fired from 50-60km away. Also, please stay away from using IRL examples too closely relating to current ongoing military events.
Tracking is one thing but then getting a fire solution is even more hardcore ;) 20km tops :D
Sure, for arcade.
Keep such out of ARB and ASB.
What F117 needs is hard targets that need its type of bombs as it lacks bombload for bases and quantity for arrows.
Tracking and getting a firing solution are generally both the same thing, at a detection rate of R90%, versus R50% for effective location of targets.
TBF until like this last update it was unusable since the gbu’s wouldn’t properly track and therefor would never hit its intended targets.
didn’t the Serbs nail one from 13km with a S-125? That thing is from the 1960s or something.
Tbf that was due to the bomb bay being open, if it wasn’t for that it wouldn’t have detected it at that even at that range.
hmm i think you are not clued in… in RL it has missiles and flare …
aim120d for f117 when ?
Bomb bays being open when dropping ordnance and the commander of that SAM unit making downing the F-117 is life purpose.
the US flew missions trough the same corridor, never changing it, so the Serbian SAM expected it. even that SAM unit’s commander said it was pure luck.
…and night battles!
So far only had one single Sim night (well dusk, actually) battle in Sim in the Nighthawk, and that was the only time I could really use it.
The other time(s), it was daylight so I was perfect prey for anything that looked in my general direction: Need to go high to be able to survive AA that of course sees you, so your’ highly visible for aircraft, which of course see you.
Why have a stealth aircraft at a BR where there are practically no radars?
Wrong, the F117 was on the way to Hungary/Croatia AFTER it finished the bombing run.
The crew that shot it down didnt even know they shot it down. They saw something on the radar and per procedure fired two missiles at it, first one missed and the second one landed a hit. Only after when they were briefed they found out it was a 117. Also the pilot Dave Zelko himself testified that he on that night finished his bombing run somewhere south of Belgrade and was on his way home. Also about the flying of the same routes if you actually watched Zoltan Danis presentation, the only spot where AA didnt overlap around Belgrade was from the east (Romania). Sort of deliberately done because its expected that Belgrade would be defended and the S-125 that took down the F117 was displaced to the west away from the AA circle of Belgrade. Also debunking the whole “same route” myth is Mike Pyetruka F15E pilot who says that during the whole campaign the Serbian AA was always a problem and that they couldnt constantly use same routes because they would be targeted even the same day if flown twice.
Now regarding the shootdown.
Firstly detected at 20km range on Azimuth of 150. Fire was delayed until the aircraft came closer and was only followed with the P-18 radar. At 16km distance on azimuth 190 the order to turn on the track radar came which resulted in a fail to lock the target. 14km and 210 azimuth was tried agaiin which failed again. Against the rules they tried even the third time to get a lock and got it at azimuth 235 at 15km which immediately resulted in firing the first and 5 seconds later the 2nd missile. Zelko himself claimed that he did see launches from his 4 o clock.
There were a few more hits on F117s during that conflict aswell, so all in all if S-125 can detect F117 at 20ish km and less…S-300 can do that at much better ranges for sure
not a chance … need to stop living in the internet bullshit … they have hid this because it got to much comments… look it has flars and missiles in real life … it would be nice if it was a strike aircraft … it is not a bomber and they even call it a strike … or make it stealth in all battles … it flys like shit … gos into a flat spin if you turn to sharp and dont have 500+ speed … fly one and see for your self … they are good for grinding if a talisman is added and that is the only thing they are good for
we do not get to pick night or day … stop it .
Sure it does xD
You dont know about the AIM-120F-12 it carried? Hmm it also used AIM-12X
