It doesn’t matter from what distance you fire them. The only advantage of the AIM-120 is the distance in TWS. But in close combat, TWS does not work, you have to switch to close air combat, and because of this, the radar is full of traps and all sorts of garbage, it is very difficult to quickly capture the target, you will constantly be locking the missile, then the traps, and the rolls will do it for you already will be shot down.
And also, why does the AIM-120 receive a startup notification when starting the AIM-120 in Track while scan mode?
Of course, you don’t use TWS for close combat; use the HMD for that. skill issue. Every uptier US plane has a damn good radar. If you think they’re not good, try Russia. Those things can’t even lock a target within 10 km sometimes.
@Axzuel would like to have a word with you and your claim, specifically with the F-15A (he has the most relatable video about that ‘damn good radar’ and its great refresh rate).
I tried Russia, and having IOG+DL from the very R-27R turns out to be such a good feature that you can in fact change targets right after launch, a capability i think no other nation is able to pull out.
Blame the radar’s wankieness all you want, though you eventually get R-27ERs, which are very advanced missiles on both raw persomance-wise and technology-wise to overcompensate that weakness.
We are talking about FOX-3s, not FOX-2s.A ctually, they are better than the R-77.
Have you ever tried the Su-27SM
Well, no one is going to use TWS in that thing, and I’m talking about the F-15E, F-16C, AV-8B, and F-15 MCCIP 2.
Lol, lmao even. Nobody except American mains say that the AMRAAM is bad. It’s far from it. The AMRAAM has the longest range out of all Fox-3’s excluding the Fakour. And for your little critical hits, they were either multipathing and it splash damaged them, or they were already hit by another AMRAAM and thus severed. American mains are just helpless man, you give them the most powerful top tier for 6 months and they still fuck it up.
Average American main looking at the statcard and basing knowledge off of that.
The post originally asks about AGMs, the fact you guys started moving the goalposts towards fox-3 is as invalid as allegedly my point, so even if i deflected your original argument, at least both takes are out of topic given your logic.
You can always check my profile, but I already started spading it, its radar is not the end of the world. Having lesser refresh freq. than NATO radars has never been a real downside like the lack of HMS mode on the F-15A, Mirage 4000, Tornados or Harriers, to name a few examples.
TWS and RAM are not equals, as RAM requires a hard lock (and the respective RWR track alert) prior to set RAM mode.
Idk who you try to fool at all, but certainly no one with enough experience in the game will believe your points without either being a hypocrite or purposefully disingenuous.
This thread has been horribly derailed. The subject line is for the KH-38’s, of which there are already a lot of threads.
There are planned air defense vehicles for 2025 which should help deal with CAS. No, the KH-38 will not be nerfed “just because”. If you think it needs to be changed, you need to submit a bug report with supporting documentation.
There isn’t really anything else to discuss here. If you want to discuss AMRAAM performance, take it to another thread. I’'ll be locking this one.
